Actually, Saturn is not a Maraka in his chart, but it gives some affliction

on Venus, which is a Maraka. And he is in 8th from Arudha Lagna with Moon,

indicating heart probelms as cause for death. Of course this combination may

also indicate drug abuse. Anyway, the mentioned stone might have added to

the death-inflicting effect of Saturn. You are right in your conclusion,

that if a planet has malefic effects, wearing its stone could strengthen

them. This is especially true for such a dire malefic as Saturn. Everyone

should be careful with its stones.

Thanks for the analysis. You are correct. He died of a heart attack

in Saturn-Moon cycle in the 8th from AL, and he abused various

prescription drugs.

The relevance of Elvis is in determining the effectiveness of using

gems related to marakas in the chart during their cycles. Some people

support their use as they maintain that they remove the negative

effects of the planet, while others say that the stone is impartial,

it just magnifies the effects planets significations in the chart.

This is a big question with gemologists that I have spoken to.

 

In Elvis's case there is a mutual aspect between Jupiter the 2nd lord

and Saturn the lord of the 3rd/4th. This renders Saturn a malefic, as

Saturn takes over primary signification as a killer when related to

marakas.

 

As to how the " king of Rock and Roll " can contribute to our jyotish

knowledge, he makes a fascinating study in many respects. It is plain

from his D-60 that he was a very spiritual person or saint designated

by the pravrajya yoga of Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Ketu in the sign of

I would say that this " saintliness " extends to his current status. There are

several ELvis churches in the U.S. now, and he is worshipped as a divine

entity by some in this country (and I am sure overseas).
