I will try answering your question. Please bare in mind that i'm not as experienced as some others on this list, and i respect and anticipate, that I will be corrected in case of mistakes.

 

Prasna:

Lagna is Thula, aspected by Sani, Guru and Ravi.

Guru's aspect gives the blessing of Jagannath, to fulfill the prasna.

Sani shows that the prasna will be given to someone other than the reciever of the querry.

Ravi lets the querry be known to many.

Rahu has graha dristi on Lagna, so this is more a test, due to the untrust of the querrist.

 

The Lagna lord; Sukra is in 7th house, showing that the intent of the querry is related to a partner. Sukra is aspected by debilitated Chandra, so the querrist is longing for affection from the partner, and maybe heartbroken. Darapada is aspected by Sukra as well, so this was indeed a shortterm relationship, but lord of Darapada is in 8th house.

 

The lagna lord of the partner is in a dual sign with Ketu and is retrogade, hence The partner is currently travelling(dual) abroad(Ketu), but will return due to the retrogade of Mangal.

Mangal and Ketu are joined with Upapada, hence denying marriage prospects of the native with the partner, due to the partners(mangal) objectives(paka lagna).

 

As the 8th house is much stronger than the 7th, the desire to find this partner will hardly be fulfilled, but Guru and Ravi will not deny dharmic objectives, and also aspect Lagna, so Jagannath has something else in mind, that might be much better.

 

As the 7th lord from Sukra, is Sukra herself, the partner is currently over seas(Movable sign) in the eastern direction(Aries).

Sukra is in Vrishab Navamsa, without any planets joining her, hence the origin of the partner is closeby in the same state/town as the querrist, in the southern direction(Vrishab=earth).

 

There are many tools that could be included in prasnas, which i haven't for the simplicity of things.

I checked Astrodienst and found that there was daylight savings in action. hence; 4:00 West.

I recommend Santhanams edition of BPHS. None of the editions are flawless, but Santhanam seems to have understood it better.

We haven't seen much of our Gurudeva lately, i hope he's well. Maybe he's writing again. Maybe we should try predict what he's doing? Anyone game?

 

In the meantime, i recommend begining to read the archives. I'm eagerly reading through them from day one. And have reached "feb 2000" - editions. Thats about 1400 messages.

 

No need in asking questions that have allready been posed you see. You'll notice that there are some discrepensies in regards to the prasna time, when you read the archives, but i follow what i've always thought/known and what was taught by Sanjay.

I would especially like to thank you for taking the time to go through the prasna chart. Sometime ago I had done an intuitive reading for my friend and told her that the relationship would not work long term. It seems that the chart says this also. Later on I had a visual image of another person that would be in her life who she would be happy with. It appears that the chart also indicates this. When I looked at the chart, with my minimal knowlegde of Jyotish and my intuition I felt that the person my friend wishes to locate in his homeland. I could not figure out that he was travelling. I was interested to see that although he was travelling he intends to return home. I also picked up an impression of possible marriage to another person, although I was not sure it was necessary a love marriage or a happy one. I felt this from the apparent strong links with family, children and home that the chart indicated and also Moon Nakshatra being Anuradha. I was fascinated by how you were able to pinpoint the location and directions.

 

Please confirm whether Bradenton Florida is 4:00 West of GMT or 5:00 West of GMT. I believe on AstroDienst I saw 5 but I am still very confused about Time Zones and Daylight savings time.

 

I noticed there was a version of BPHS on the Web but I thought that there is an infringement of copyright issue. Please let me where would you suggest I get a copy and which version.

 

I hope that Gurudeva Sanjayji will not think me arrogant to try to understand Prasna when I barely know anything. I find it such a strong motivation to learn, especially as many people's birth times are incorrect. It is hard to say if the Nurse took her coffee break and then came back and wrote down what she thought was the time or if she did it right there and then. Also which moment is considered the birth - when the baby is completely out, when the cord is cut etc.

 

I will go over your analysis and try to understand more. I only told my friend what I thought she would be comfortable with. However I feel that your analysis is very accurate.
