Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Frank & Robert, Ravi or the Sun as the Atmakaraka is not the cause of grief. The Atma is above these emotions. Grief comes to the Mana (Mind) on perceiving things as being beneficial (happiness) or adverse (sorrow/greif) to oneself or others. Thus the Mana is the place where we live consciously and Saturn, the great enemy of the Moon is the Cause of Grief as Jupiter its great friend is the cause of happiness. In a way, both these also deviate from the path of the pure self consciousness as excess of happiness or sorrow are both bad. Moderation is always good. Remember that death occurs when the ATMA is no longer willing to stay in the body....and not vice versa.. You ask high spiritual questions. Good think on what I have said. Guest guest
Dear Gurudev! Please accept my Pranaam. I want to share a little bit of my thoughts on happiness and sorrow. Happiness and Sorrow occur due to desire of material things. When we get something we desire, we become happy and when we lose the same sorrow overpower us. A renounced person or a spiritual person should not be stirred by these emotions as they hinder the spiritual progress. They should be a passive observer of the drama of life which is being played with the observer as a character in the drama. The feeling that I am not the doer but only an instrument in the hands of the supreme, will help to get over the emotions.
