Dear Karu!

Killing is not sin per se. For that matter any act is not sin as long as the doer follows his dharma. Killing the enemies is the dharma of a king to protect his people, if he doesn't fulfil this dharma, then he is sinning. This is inline with the teachings of Bhagwat GITA.

To qualify an action to be good or bad, we cannot disassociate the context in which it is performed.

This is my two cents

Sarajit

Jaya Jagannath,

Dear Vijay,

Thank you very much for your information. In addition to that I found following exemption given in Bagavad Geta by Srila Prabhupada.

1.A poison giver,

2.One who sets fire to the house,

3.One who attacks with deadly weapons,

4.One who plunders riches,

5.One who occupies another's land

6.One who kidnaps another's wife

Killing those is befitting for ordinary people and no sins is incurred. But this is only affects to human been. Non of the animals doing those type of aggressions is it n't ?

Thanks again,

Karu

After kurkshetra war, Yudhistir goes to Bhishm and begs to bestow him with the knowledge. Bhishma teaches him several things. Among them, he also mentions that "ahimsa paramoe dharma:". He tells that one should not kill the animal for the purpose of enjoyment (mRgaya vinodam). How ever, he also tell that it is duty of king to kill any crual animals that are posing threat to the people. Best regards, Vijay. karu wrote: Jaya Jagannath,Namasthe Gurudeva Sanjay, I have a question if you could kindly help me. In Manusmrti, chapter 12- P529 R.N.
