[Hare Rama Krishna] Venus in the 6th house

Dear Zoran guru,

Namaskar.

In Bhavarth Ratnakar (Dr.B.V.Raman) it is stated that 6th house placement is the best for Venus.

This is diametrically opposite to your mail. I am confused.

Dear Sarajit,No on the contrary, it gives difficulties with women. Venus is the worst placed in 6th house for many reasons. It is hard to keepsenses under check with venus in the 6th. Combine karakatwas of venus and karakwas of 6th and you will see why it is bad. Sanjayopines that the native's health drastically improves after marriage. Venus being natural karaka for wife is very bad placed in the6th from it, unless well related to Upapad lagna. Dear Anshu,

There are many contradictions found in jyotisha books, perhaps, due

to the lapse of time, some texts were corrupted...You must never blindly

follow the texts, but ponder deeply into the logic. Venus is natural benefic

and as such it is good for significations of 6th house, enemies, health,

etc.. When graha is good for the enemies, it is not good for the native.

It is rajas graha, and has tendency to enjoy, in the significations of

6th house, such as vice etc.. Shukra rules females, while 6th rules enemies,

so there are female enemies. Shukra rules wife, while 6th house rules enemities

etc..Shukra rules food, while 6th house rules dosha imbalances, and shadripus

etc..Shukra is debilitated in virgo, while virgo is 6th house of natural

zodiac.. This is the basic logic. As a future jyotisha, you must always

think, and try to ponder into the basic levels of grahas, rashis, nakshatras,

and bhavas...

Dear Jyotisha,

Ramanujacharya is the author of Bhavartha Ratnakara. He was an extremist in many ways and his teachings vary considerably from the path of pure bhakti shown by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He was unceremoniously thrown out of Puri when he tried to change its customs (by Jagannath Mahaprabhu). So, please study this work very carefully.

"Shasta Sukra Marana Karaka" is a well known dictum. Venus in the sixth house brings death on its signs. This is in stark contrast to what Bhavartha Ratnakara states. Perhaps Ramanuja wanted that all Sukra related activity should end quickly in this world and hence considers this placement auspicious.

I agree with the views expressed by Gary Gomes. Be careful while dealing with recent works.
