Guest guest
AUM SRI GURUVE NAMAH Dear Gurudev and Jyotish! 1. This is in extension of the mail exchange between Narasimha and Satya in the Vedic-astrology list on Nakshatra lordship. On one hand I understand that the deities of the nakshatra are fixed and are used for Muhurtha purposes. However, I don't understand, how the rulers of the nakshatra is fixed on the basis of the various dasas? Why the same nakshatra has different rulership for different dasas? 2. Why the planets have the particular sequence, they have in any dasa, why not any other sequence? Why vimshottari dasa has the sequence of Ke, Ve, Su, Mo, Ma, Ra, Ju, Sa, Me and not Su, Mo, Me, Ve, Ma, Ju, Sa, Ra, Ke or any other sequence. Based on this sequence only, the nakshatra lordship is determined for a particular dasa? I am still pondering, any ideas are welcome... Guest guest
Dear Sarajit, " Used for Muhurta purposes " ? What I gave was just an example to show the importance of nakshatra deities in Vedic astrology. The deities are not limited to muhurtas. They are used, as I wrote, in sarvatobhadra chakra too. Do you remember an exercise Sanjay gave on varahamihira list, in which he asked each student to see the lagna nakshatra and janma nakshatra in his/her chart and give readings based on them. Do you recall that ruling deities were used but not Vimsottari lords? There are some misconceptions today about nakshatras. The nature of a nakshatra is decided by its lord (ruling deity) and not by its Vimsottari dasa lord. The latter has a limited purpose and people overuse it. The second question you asked is very fundamental and the answer can only be philosophical. Sanjay is the only Jyotishi I met who can give intelligent and appealing answers to such fundamental questions. Hopefully, he will answer (atleast on varahamihira list).
