For example, the specific dictum (if my memory serves me right) is in Jataka Parijatha. Total the Vimsottari dasa periods of the planets influencing the fifth house and in as many days from Sankranti shall a child be born...there a deep undelying meaning behind this and a simplistic interpretation shall not help.

My father does not have any planets in the fifth house and his fifth Lord Mercury conjoins Venus, Sun & Jupiter. Let us say that the first child was born under the combined influence of Mercury plus Sun & Venus (Actually born on Wednesday with Venus & Sun in Lagna). Now, 17+6+20 = 43; 43-30=13 and he was on the 13th day after Meena Sankranti. (Why was Jupiter left out??).With Best Wishes,Sanjay Rath

Was Jupiter left out because the birth happened in its own month? Meena Sankrati?
