Guest guest Posted August 17, 2001 Report Share Posted August 17, 2001 Namaste, I am pondering the relationship between Surya and Sani. As I understand it Sani is Suryaputra or the son of Surya... So the opposite of light is dark or Asit ( another name for Sani). What is of interest is that if Sani is Surya's son, why would they be opposed to each other? Sani is borm from the union of Surya and Chhaya ( lit. shadow) - and therefore the combination of light and dark. Why would the father ( Ravi) be opposes to his son, Sani? We think of Sani and the " teacher that moves slowly " as a great malific, yet comes from the the father that owns the 5th house ( Leo). Sani brings limitations, angst, restraint, yet is karaka of the 12house for spirituality. Could this be as Sani acts as Saptarchi or the one who has 7 rays or flames? Thoughts on this?
