Dear Chandra,

I'm assuming Chandra is your name and don't be shy to use your name in

future. It is more interpersonal on the impersonal internet. Let me say a

little about karma first.

The astrologer reads the prarabdha karmas, the portion of sanchita karmas

that we are destined to experience in this present life. The chart reveals

the positive and negative aspects of our prarabdha karmas. All of us must

experience our prarabdha karmas. The moment of birth determines the prarabdha

karmas. These karmas can be either sattvic, rajastic, or tamasic, depending

on the nature of the planets - their disposition, strength, placement, etc,

etc. In addition, these karmas can have different levels of intensity, and

here we have the following three classification:

Droodha Karmas - these karmas are extremely difficult to change and are

represented in the chart by serious afflictions or impediments caused by the

poor placement of house lords and the influence of malefic planets.

Droodha/Adroodha Karmas - These are less serious and can be changed only

through determined effort, especially through spiritual practices such as

meditation, yoga, and sincere & selfless devotion to God(ess) and chartitable

contributions for a good cause.

Adroodha Karmas - these can easily be changed by cultivating good attitudes

and through good actions.

Now, it is in your hands. You have to master the science of Jyotish and you

have made a good start by joining this wonderful list. Go through the lessons

and read the recommended books by our Guru Sanjay. You should also read

Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra as well as other classical texts. If you do this

diligently, you will become a scholar of Jyotish. It takes a long time but

then you will understand karma and all its implications. The entire chart is

based on past karmas.

Most important of all is to remember the following always: to trancend karma

we must always think of Bhagawan, surrender our mind to Him, serve Him and

adore and worship Him. Jyotish is the " Eye " of the Vedas but God is the Seer.

I don't think we can fully understand karma until we become one with that

Seer. In the meantime we play with the grahas to pass the time and to

entertain the ignorant mind that refuses to turn to God.

Regards,

Brendan

Dear Sanjay

Would you please explain more further, because " ninth

house and Shastyamsa " is not enough for me.

Thanks,

Regards,

Poli

Dear Sanjay,

Why do you restrict karma to 9th house and D-60? How can we ignore all the

other houses, all the other areas of life - health, finances, home, children,

enemies, marriage, chronic disease, career? Surely the results promised in

those houses as well as the corresonding varga charts must all be karmic

consequences.

Would like to hear your reply!

Regards,

Brendan
