Use of Progression.xls sheet in predicting marriage date

Dear All,

 

I was trying to use the progression.xls excel sheet as posted by

Narasimha and at the same time I read one of the lessons by him in

which he says that time of marriage could be predicted when Sun

occupies the same degree in the same sign (in Rasi chart) as occupied

by Venus in Rasi chart.

 

I have a chart for a girl born 5 March 1977 and she wants to know

when she would be married. At the time of birth,

 

Sun was 21 Aq 13 and

Venus was 28 Pi 53

 

Now, using progression chart, I see that Sun occupies the position of

28 Pi 53 exactly on 07th June 2002. Would this date be a good

prediction for her marriage then? Or am I totally missing the point?

Dear Abhilekh,

 

When progressed Sun touches Venus or vivaha saham, certainly marriage

is a possibility. However, use 3 deg 20 min per year progression

based on navamsa. Western astrologers always use 1 degree

progression. This is based on D-30 and shows evils. For timing

marriage, use navamsa-based-progression. Progressed Sun will be

somewhere in Taurus in 2002.

 

Even using 1 deg per year progression, your calculations don't seem

right. From 1977 to 2002, it is 25 years. Adding 25 deg to natal Sun,

you only get 21 Pi 13. You can add a partial degree for March-June,

but how do you get 28Pi53? Clearly, something is wrong.

 

But, we often cannot get upto the date using progressions.
