Guest guest
The lahiri ayanamsa assumes and calculates that fixed and moving zodiac coincided in 285 AD and calculates the ayanamsa. Prof shastri writes that as per varhamihira the entry of sun into uttarayana on 273d20m and if we calculate we get the date of 200AD. Mr Fagan found that these two ought to have coincided in 213 AD. As per Surya sidhanta this date is 398.which is followed in Ramans ayamansa. I find if we set off Lahiri ayanamsa by few minutes i.e 5 minutes and 51 seconds some things become better. I remember PVR mentioning once that he also follows aynamsa which is few minutes lower than Lahiri aynamsa. Generally Lahiri ayanamsa gives satisfactoriy result but if we set it off by some minutes can we get better result. Thanks Rajesh
