Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah --------------------------- Shri Zoran, Namaste. Re: Grahamalika Yoga, I quote straight from Bhavartha Ratnakara (translated by B.V. Raman). " In Bhavartha Ratnakara, 9 planets are taken into account and the garland should commence from Ascendant only. Some astrologers feel that the mala can commence from the Sun also, but most prefer the start from the Ascendant. If all the planets occupy the five houses from the ascendant, Panchagrahamalika is formed. If all the planets occupy the six houses from the ascendant, Shastagrahamalika is formed. If all the planets occupy the seven houses from the ascendant, Saptagrahamalika is formed. If all the planets occupy the eight houses from the ascendant, Astagrahamalika is formed. If all the planets occupy the nine houses from the ascendant, Navagrahamalika is formed. All the five types of Grahamalika Yogas caused by the presence of the planets in 5,6,7,8 or 9 houses from the Ascendant are said to make a person born in them fortunate. The term used by the author is " Bhagya Yoga " or fortunate combination. The Grahamalika yogas are not to be confused with Nabhasa yogas like Pasa yoga, Damini Yoga, Vallaki yoga etc. " [in standard works on Astrology, Malika Yoga is defined as the disposition of the 7 planets in the 7 houses contiguously. If the planets are disposed from ascendant, it is Lagna malika, if from 2nd house, it is Dhanamalika etc., and the mala/garland can commence from any house. ] Lagnamalika - Start from 1st house - King, Commander, wealthy Dhanamalika- 2nd - Very wealthy, dutiful, resolute, unsympathetic Vikramamalika -3rd - Ruler, rich, sickly, surrounded by brave men Sukhamalika -4th - Charitable, liberal, wealthy Putramalika 5th -Highly religious, famous Satrumalika 6th -Greedy, somewhat poor Kalatramalika 7th -Coveted by women and influential Randhramalika 8th -Poor and henpecked Bhagyamalika 9th - Religious, well-to-do, mighty and good Karmamalika 10th - Respected, virtuous Labhamalika 11th - Skilful and lord of lovely women Vyayamalika 12th -Honoured, liberal & respected [Pancha/shashta graha malika yogas are ruled out as impossible by B.V. Raman, as Ketu is always 7 houses away from Rahu. But is it not possible in divisional charts?] Planets occupying even signs produce results pertaining to their trinal ownership in the begining; the results due to the other ownership will be conferred afterwards. Planets occupying odd signs produce results pertaining to ownership of Rasi etc., in the begining; the results due to trinal lordship will be conferred afterwards. A planet in the 2nd from the Sun possesses swift motion; the one in the 3rd from the Sun will have even motion. Planets in the 4th from the Sun possess slow motion; those in the 5th & 6th have somewhat retrograde motion. Planets in the 7th & 8th from the Sun possess retrograde motion; those in the 9th and 10th will have transverse motion. Planets in the 11th & 12th from the Sun possess very swift motion. Swift motion renders benefics devoid of strength. Malefics cause good by having retrograde motion. Hope you find it useful. Guest guest
Namaste Lakshmi, Thank you for this effort of yours. Please see my coments below > If all the planets occupy the five houses from the > ascendant, Panchagrahamalika is formed. > If all the planets occupy the six houses from the > ascendant, Shastagrahamalika is formed. > If all the planets occupy the seven houses from the > ascendant, Saptagrahamalika is formed. > If all the planets occupy the eight houses from the > ascendant, Astagrahamalika is formed. > If all the planets occupy the nine houses from the > ascendant, Navagrahamalika is formed. > All the five types of Grahamalika Yogas caused by the > presence of the planets in 5,6,7,8 or 9 houses from > the Ascendant are said to make a person born in them > fortunate. The term used by the author is " Bhagya > Yoga " or fortunate combination. The Grahamalika yogas > are not to be confused with Nabhasa yogas like Pasa > yoga, Damini Yoga, Vallaki yoga etc. " We can see that in this work, the successive distribution of houses is not meant. All planets cannot occupy 8/9 houses, unless we exclude nodes. If the nodes are ignored, then only 7 houses can be occupied by grahas successively. It is interesting to see why these yogas are bhagya yogas. Each graha would have dhanargala over each other, while there would be counter argalas too..However, in divisional charts where Rahu and Ketu fall within the same sign, such grahamalika yoga would be possible. > [in standard works on Astrology, Malika Yoga is > defined as the disposition of the 7 planets in the 7 > houses contiguously. If the planets are disposed from > ascendant, it is Lagna malika, if from 2nd house, it > is Dhanamalika etc., and the mala/garland can commence > from any house. ] > Lagnamalika - Start from 1st house - King, Commander, > wealthy > Dhanamalika- 2nd - Very wealthy, dutiful, resolute, > unsympathetic > Vikramamalika -3rd - Ruler, rich, sickly, surrounded > by brave men > Sukhamalika -4th - Charitable, liberal, wealthy > Putramalika 5th -Highly religious, famous > Satrumalika 6th -Greedy, somewhat poor > Kalatramalika 7th -Coveted by women and influential > Randhramalika 8th -Poor and henpecked > Bhagyamalika 9th - Religious, well-to-do, mighty and > good > Karmamalika 10th - Respected, virtuous > Labhamalika 11th - Skilful and lord of lovely women > Vyayamalika 12th -Honoured, liberal & respected These effects are in my opinion more probable. I feel that graha malika yoga would be formed from 5 grahas in the chain up to 8th grahas, starting from any house. The question remains whether effects of the yoga would be always favourable or not, if for example yoga starts from the dustana or papa graha. In above results, 6/8 starting yoga is considered unfavourable. I think that we should test the results in practical charts. We should start with: 1. examining the results of various Malika Yogas formed by 5-8 grahas 2. examining the results of these yogas starting from each house 3. examining the results of grahas starting and finishing the yoga. For example, malika yoga starting with the sun cannot be the same as malika yoga starting with ketu.. THE BASIC MATTER IS THAT FOR THE STRENGHT OF EACH YOGA, SUN (INITIATOR) AND MOON(SUSTAINER) SHOULD BE STRONG(SARAVALI) I have charts with these yogas so we should all collect the charts, and start examination. I will post a few charts with results.. I will focus on the yoga for the time being, while the effects below are of different matter. Let's leave it for now.. Well, Let us take the case of LagnAdhi Yoga, the chain started from 6 th house. It is favourable. Again contradiction. Guest guest
Dear Venkat, Lagnadhi or Chandradhi Yoga are something different. Grahas in 6/12 houses from chandra are important for married life, while grahas in 2/8th are important for family happiness. Benefics in these places are good. As for the Lagnadhi Yoga, benefics in 6.7.8 houses from Lagna are said to give this Yoga, These graha should not join the malefics, nor should they have some blemishes, such as low dignity-debilitation etc. Now,examine the argalas, and dristis and tell me what you think why this yoga is considered auspicious.. Best wishes, Zoran venkateshwara_reddy wrote: > > In above results, 6/8 starting yoga is considered unfavourable. > > Well, Let us take the case of LagnAdhi Yoga, the chain started from 6 > th house.
