Guest guest
For your information: On September 18 a new virus called " Nimda " was discovered that has been found to infect computer systems in four ways - via file sharing, infected mass email, connection to infected servers on the Internet or via a LAN connection. It can infect Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 and NT Operating Systems. It can leave your system open and vulnerable to other users. If you are using any of these operating systems, Road Runner strongly suggests visiting the following link posted by Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/secur ity/topics/Nimda.asp This link has information regarding software patches specific to your operating system that will help prevent this virus from infecting your computer. Because these patches are specific to Microsoft's operating systems, Microsoft is the best source for any assistance with these patches. Customers running Windows 95, 98 and ME do not need to apply the patches under the Web Server section. Windows NT and Windows 2000 users need to apply the patches listed under the all three sections, including the Web Servers and File Shares section of the previous link, even if you do not feel that you are at risk.
