My attempt on 1st Question missed your attention.

Here is my attempt on 2nd Question:

Shri Aurobindo:

His lagna is having Exalted Jupiter (9th lord) and debilitated Mars (with neechabanga, yogakaraka, 5th and 10th lord), shows strong inclination for teaching (he was professor and principal) and having many followers from his karmic activity.

What was his role in the world ? Though he was involved in political and teaching activities, his final Atma desire was experiencing god and teaching his findings. Plus, he has written many books and translated many old scriptures. Budha as the AK in Scorpio Navamsa supports his occult work and translation. Chandra aspecting the Karkamsa and placement of Venus along with AK in Rasi confirms his ability to write poems. In addition Venus is placed in trines to lagnamsa.

AK Mercury conjoined Sun, the cleaning planet and Venus the benefic in the second house ensuring sweet speech, which attracted many followers. By the second house placement, AK promised a great saint and spiritual personality. 9th house from Karakamsa has Jupiter's aspect and which ensures truthful personality

Combination of AK Mercury, Saturn and Ketu made him a Tapaswi and devoid of children. Sani with AK made him a famous man (Jaimini Sutra)

Ishta devata:

12th from Karakamsa is Libra unoccupied and the lord Venus is placed in Mithuna in the 5th house from Lagnamsa. As per Navamsa, he is the yogakaraka. Venus represented Mother roopam of Lakshmi and Shri Aurobindo called her as Mother and worshiped her. Karaka for 4th house is Moon, again a mother roopam. Moon is the puthrakara, which represents followers. Moon is well placed in Kendras to Lagnamsa and Karakamsa, in exaltation. All his spiritual activities started in the Moon period. Moon's seventh house placement confirms achievements in his life.

Because of Venus and Moon involvement, in Kona and Kendra, he has made poetic form of teaching as Savitri. His Mercury as AK in Scorpio also made him to work on Rig veda. Placement of Jupiter in 3rd also confirms his writing works on religious nature.
