Guest guest
HARE RAMA KRISHNA VYAM VYASADEVAYA NAMAH Dear Gurudev, I am a recent member of the list(accepted in July) and I was sad to read that I have to leave the varahamihara group for some time on the day of saraswati puja. I had submitted answers to questions1,2,3 and the last one. You have assessed my replies to Questions 1,2,3. Your latest assesment encouraged me more. You had said: Sriram: Very nice question about Budha retrograde and Ista devata. You have a sharp eye for detail. This is good. Think a little more on this and you will get the answer. Last birth-desires, Gods lesson, Budha defeats Mars in natural Graha Yuddha and Ahimsa defeats violence..think some more. Extremely good and fresh with ideas and a good eye.. you will do well. Keep it up. I will answer all your questions tomorrow.I do not have the astronomical knowledge to correct the charts (and rectify the birth time ) of Prophet Mohamed and Lord Jesus Christ. I however thought of sending the answers to remaining questions tomorrow.I have no excuses other than my poor time management for not answering the questions in time. After years, I found the varahimihira group to provide answers to my questions and I worship you as my siksha guru. The questions posed and the answers given are the result of indepth knowledge of various members of the group, but this is what i am seeking and this is what i am enjoying and understanding when i read the mails. In fact, the varahamihira group has uplifted me spiritually and increased my depth of spiritual knowledge. It was nice of you to form another group in which we can post the answers to the sjvc exercises. But, PLEASE , allow us to atleast read the mails even if we cannot contribute to the discussion of varahamihira .I may be one of the worst students you may have ever had, but please bear with me. I will surely take steps to progress and from the bottom of my heart, I know that varahamihira group is the path for my progress. PLEASE SHOW KINDNESS ON YOUR POOR STUDENT, YOUR SISHYA, K.N.SRIRAM Make a great connection at Personals.
Guest guest
Dear Sanjay and gurus, I was surprised and sad to read your mail as I have joined Varahamihira only a few weeks ago and currently in the process of going through the lessons and mails. There maybe various reasons for people not responding/participating continuously BUT one thing is for sure: the source of wisdom derived from the mails can not be price-tagged and helps us ALL in our progressed studies and jyotish knowledge development. I do join the (loud) voices asking to PLEASE, allow us to stay so we can at least read the mails, eventhough active participation may be fluctuating at this stage and contribution to the discussion of varahamihira does not meet your current expectation. This symptom (some participate more than others and some are slower than others) occurs even in regular classes at schools and universities where study occupies 100% of students time. Please remember that many of us are also occupied with other daily "surviving" tasks ... To many of us, the Varahamihira group means more than you may realize! Guest guest
OM SRI GURAVE NAMAH ----------------- RESPECTED GURUDEV PRANAMS After opening my inbox this evening , I was shocked to learn that , I shall have to leave Varahamihira Group because of my not answering all the questions of the compulsory lesson. Guruji, please allow me to say something about it. I have joined the group in 3rd week of September. After answering the first two questions, and seeing the high level of discussions, I thought that let me learn something from the discussions and after attaning some higher level of knowledge, I shall start answering .In the meanwhile I started reading your books and perhaps ,you remember that I have send a few mails to clear my confusions. You have encouraged me , and that was my source of inspiration for the study. If I knew that my not answering all questions will compel me to leave this Group, I would have never faltered answering questions.(I also have answered the last question) I also have received a mail from Solaiji in this regards. I am willing to join the new group to study the basics of jyotish shastra. But for Gods sake, please don't remove me from the Varahamihira Group , joining which is the Divine Grace for me. And please don't take away that Grace from me. At least , please allow me to read the discussion. with regards sincerely yours Dr. Dilip Banerjee drdilip03 drdilip - Sanjay Rath Varahamihira Thursday, October 25, 2001 12:24 PM [Hare Rama Krishna] NEW CLASSROOM FOR NEW STUDENTS OF JYOTISH Om Gurave Namah Sri Jagannath Vedic Center Varahamihira Class Evaluation Sheet Guru: Pt. I have no doubts about your evaluation and have applied for the admission in the new classroom and I am also unsubscribing from Varahamihira class till the time you permit me to rejoin the Varahamihira class. I thank all of you for being so concerned about our well being. I also look forward to receiving your advice for regaining my loss of memory problem. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna!!! Pranams Guru Sanjay Rathji, I joined the Varahamihira list in the beginning of october. Before I could even take a glimpse of all the good things happening here, I was asked to leave the group. But as others in the list have echoed , I value your time , patience and suggestion and hence am applying to the new class. But please let me remain in the Varahamihira class so that I can at least make a note of all the proceedings if not participate in them. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Namaste friends, A lot of people took this positive and much needed change negatively. A typical response is given below: > I joined the Varahamihira list in the beginning of october. Before I could even take a glimpse of > all the good things happening here, I was asked to leave the group. > But as others in the list have echoed , I value your time , patience and suggestion and hence am > applying to the new class. > > But please let me remain in the Varahamihira class so that I can at least make a note of all the > proceedings if not participate in them. The point is that SJVC's teaching system is still evolving. Sanjay has a lot of precious knowledge from the parampara. We gurus got some of it from him and we are ever eager to share the little we know with the whole world and definitely with SJVC students. Spoon-feeding is not the Indian or Vedic way of teaching. Sensitive knowledge is hinted teasingly and only the deserving students understand it. We want to continue such informal and intelligent mode of teaching at SJVC. However, those who are not strong in the basics cannot fully benefit from such mode of teaching. They have to be spoon-fed on the basics. Once they understand the basics well, they are on a level playing ground and can benefit from the teachings on varahamihira. The latest announcement from Sanjay is NOT a punishment for students who have been inactive. We gurus debated and discussed the issues and decided that the fault lies with US and not with YOU. We have to spoon-feed the basics to those who need them and send them to varahamihira when they are ready. Having all the activities in one list is difficult. So we decided to have two lists. Those on the " sjvc " list will receive formal training on the basics from Gurus Solai, Gauranga and Phyl. Other gurus like Sanjay and I will also be present on the list. The purpose of this list is to prepare you better for benefiting from varahamihira. If you are ready, Solai will not keep you on sjvc for too long. He will immediately send you to varahamihira. When you have to be happy and excited that things are falling in place at SJVC, you are unnecessarily getting worried! The sooner all the people who need training in basics move to SJVC, the sooner Solai and other Gurus can start formal training! If you think that you are strong in basics, please talk to Solai and remain in varahamihira. But then, you will be losing a great opportunity to quickly progress! Please take this positively and be a part of SJVC as it evolves! If you have any grievances, please talk to Solai (solai) instead of sending a mail to the whole list. All the best to everyone in the pursuit of higher learning in Jyotish! May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah ---------------- Shri Sanjay, Namaste. It seems a long time since we have heard from you. Why this silence? I feel that in some way we have all hurt you, either individually or collectively. Most certainly we have not been able to measure upto your immense knowledge, your expectations, and your standard of perfection. Guruji, we are all small people caught up in the mindless tedium of existence. And unlike you, we lack the guts to stop existing and start living a meaningful life. You know, I tremendously admire the way you left your secure job, and tried to realise your dreams. It must have been a difficult decision and you must have faced many odds because of it. I am sure it definitely required a lot of courage and inner conviction. And I realise just how much SJVC means to you. In a world dominated by money minded, ultra smooth guys trying to " package " and " market " their limited know-how, you are a rare genuine person/Teacher, willing to share your vast knowledge and experience freely, wanting only a matching contribution of interest/sincerety from us. The way you praise our good points, point out our faults, scold us, tell us where to look, how to correct ourselves...Where can we get a Guru like you? Your anger/roughness openly shows your concern and how deeply you are involved in our development. And just how hurt you are right now.... Sanjayji, you are the Guru and more than us, you know what's best for us. Tell us where to go and we will. Please forgive us and do come back to the list. We all miss you very much. Guest guest
Dear Solai, I'm sorry not have answered your e-mail before, but besides the lack of time I was seeing about the correct answer to give. And the correct answer is to tell you how I'm working with Varahamihira class. At first I didn't know anything about Jyotish, then I read the mails and files from Varahamihira class and studied the basics to understand the differences of meaning between Venus of astrology and Shukra of Jyotish, Simha and Leo, and so on. I can't find any of the Jyotish books here in Brazil, I have to import them, and I don't have money for that. I found on the Internet the basics of Jyotish, but only few things from BRIHAT PARASARA HORA SHASTRA, as I supposed be the main book one must read, and no online edition for download. I already work as spiritual counselor by the grace and guidance of my Diksha Guru Swami Tilak. And I have some remembrances of the astral plane when my Gurudeva wants so. I started to study Jyotish watching the " terrain " , at dream state, and look for what I saw on the chart. I was waiting for having a more consistent approach of " my " Jyotish to contact Guru Sanjay Rath for corrections. The mails from Varahamihira Class served as source of theoretical knowledge to apply on the " terrain " , as well as other internet sources. But to have a Guru to correct the different parallels between astral things and the chart is the main thing I need, but I'm not saying that I don't need the lessons as well (it's difficult for me to express the ideas correctly in English) and those lessons is not important, on the contrary. This is a summary of my present study: NAME: Samira BIRTH: September-21-1980 1:00pm TZ: 3 LONG: 43w10 LAT: 22s54 Samira had strong headaches four months ago and no doctor or examinations found anything wrong with her. Psychiatric treatment was indicated, and a healthy young woman started to take pills (as Diazepan) to " control " the future headaches. I took her chart to study, and started seeing in dream state the process of astral nature involved in it. I saw that her father had a kind of astral being which eats the way to higher level of existence (cultural, financial, etc...) - her father doesn't live with her and her mother, and he's not a very honest person - and her missing for the father's attention and specially her lack of vision of the real nature of her father took to Samira's life great part of that astral being. Since then (about end of 1999) the financial father's life increased (but it doesn't increased Samira's) and the Samira's eager to higher forms of culture and life (as vegetarianism) vanish away. By that time (1999) Samira lived some months with her father, and I think she was " infected " then. I don't have the chart of Samira's father, and worked only with Samira's. At first I saw that the dasha Rahu/Chandra (starting now at oct-28-2001) will increase the possibility the headaches comes again. She is very strong with a large amount of a dense, earth energy. Rahu is the ruler for her urge for higher forms of life (making herself rebelling from her mother's and father's strong mind control - she loves them both, but their lives are culturally poor, and she knows it), but the increase for higher levels is not possible now because the " infection " . Chandra comes bringing a lot of more mind stuff giving to her a sense of physical power to grow up, it is just a sense, but a real sense, and her unconscious mind will push the mind stuff (it's correct to say chitta?) up creating pressure around the upper parts of life (where the head is included). And Chandra being so strong in her chart, the power to condense the mind stuff is strong enough to condense it and create a tumor in her brain. I saw that the Dasha when the infection takes place was a Rahu/Shukra/Guru. Where Guru is present everything is correct, so the infection was a form to correct her dharma, since Guru is her Atmakaraka, and the Atmakaraka is the ultimate source of dharma itself, Guru let the infection comes in using the " sucking power " of Shukra. And, as Shukra occupies her Rashi 7th house with Rahu, the partner at that moment (her father, because she was living with him - she had no boy-friend at that moment) provided the " infection " . Perhaps, she would be infected by a boy-friend in other circumstance, but at the age of 19 with a strong feeling to his father, he was the stronger man in her life. Being Guru the ruler for this " infection " , and working in her Rashi 8th house, the house of astral plane, now no one can see the trouble in physical plane (as doctors couldn't see), a big dangerous situation because the condensed power of Candra in her Rashi chart is strong enough to turn this astral trouble a physical one. Now, a doubt: The answer for her trouble is found in Navamsa Chart. The Navamsa Chart is the chart for perfect life, and there Guru is very strong, being in 12th house he controls what goes out of her life, and Dhanu in 12th points to Dharma as the valve Guru uses to know what stays in and what goes out of the life. Chandra and Budha together in the 8th gives the answer to the treatment: first to dissolve (budha) the mind stuff (candra) working with " alchemicals " ways to manipulate the astral plane to eliminate the risk of a future tumor, and second make her turn conscious (budha) of how the astral plane (8th house) works in the fundamentals for herself (simha). She has strong power to deal with astral plane when she is sleeping as we can see in Kuja (or Mangala, I don't know what is most usual) linked in 10th with the lagna by Makara in Rashi chart, stronged in sleep by his position in 4th in Navamsa chart, so no external means needs to be used to manipulate the astral plane and takes the astral being out. This link I can see, but what link (aspect, etc.) there is between Guru and Candra-Budha in Navamsa Chart? There's none as far as I see (it's not too much!). This is only a summary of how I am studying with Varahamihira class. If I can participate on Varahamihira class - good, if I can participate on Beginners class - good too. I would appreciate too much to participate in SJVC, but I cannot guarantee I will answer lessons because I am just able to work with people I have astral contact to when I am sleeping, most of the time. I don't want to be selfish and disrespect the Gurus of SJVC being an exception in your way to teach, and if I can't fit in the SJVC standards I will understand. Waiting for your answer I beg Shri Rama bring happiness above all of you and your work. Guest guest
OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Namaste Subhava das, I sent a private mail to you in this regard. Thanks Solai Kannan Eduardo Figueiredo [duduyoga]Wednesday, October 31, 2001 5:33 AMvarahamihira Subject: Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] Re: NEW CLASSROOM FOR NEW STUDENTS OF JYOTISHDear Solai, I'm sorry not have answered your e-mail before, but besides the lack of time I was seeing about the correct answer to give. And the correct answer is to tell you how I'm working with Varahamihira class. At first I didn't know anything about Jyotish, then I read the mails and files from Varahamihira class and studied the basics to understand the differences of meaning between Venus of astrology and Shukra of Jyotish, Simha and Leo, and so on.I can't find any of the Jyotish books here in Brazil, I have to import them, and I don't have money for that. I found on the Internet the basics of Jyotish, but only few things from BRIHAT PARASARA HORA SHASTRA, as I supposed be the main book one must read, and no online edition for download.I already work as spiritual counselor by the grace and guidance of my Diksha Guru Swami Tilak. And I have some remembrances of the astral plane when my Gurudeva wants so. I started to study Jyotish watching the "terrain", at dream state, and look for what I saw on the chart. I was waiting for having a more consistent approach of "my" Jyotish to contact Guru Sanjay Rath for corrections. The mails from Varahamihira Class served as source of theoretical knowledge to apply on the "terrain", as well as other internet sources. But to have a Guru to correct the different parallels between astral things and the chart is the main thing I need, but I'm not saying that I don't need the lessons as well (it's difficult for me to express the ideas correctly in English) and those lessons is not important, on the contrary. This is a summary of my present study:NAME: SamiraBIRTH: September-21-1980 1:00pmTZ: 3 LONG: 43w10 LAT: 22s54Samira had strong headaches four months ago and no doctor or examinations found anything wrong with her. Psychiatric treatment was indicated, and a healthy young woman started to take pills (as Diazepan) to "control" the future headaches. Since then (about end of 1999) the financial father's life increased (but it doesn't increased Samira's) and the Samira's eager to higher forms of culture and life (as vegetarianism) vanish away.By that time (1999) Samira lived some months with her father, and I think she was "infected" then. I don't have the chart of Samira's father, and worked only with Samira's.At first I saw that the dasha Rahu/Chandra (starting now at oct-28-2001) will increase the possibility the headaches comes again. She is very strong with a large amount of a dense, earth energy. Rahu is the ruler for her urge for higher forms of life (making herself rebelling from her mother's and father's strong mind control - she loves them both, but their lives are culturally poor, and she knows it), but the increase for higher levels is not possible now because the "infection". Where Guru is present everything is correct, so the infection was a form to correct her dharma, since Guru is her Atmakaraka, and the Atmakaraka is the ultimate source of dharma itself, Guru let the infection comes in using the "sucking power" of Shukra. And, as Shukra occupies her Rashi 7th house with Rahu, the partner at that moment (her father, because she was living with him - she had no boy-friend at that moment) provided the "infection". Perhaps, she would be infected by a boy-friend in other circumstance, but at the age of 19 with a strong feeling to his father, he was the stronger man in her life.Being Guru the ruler for this "infection", and working in her Rashi 8th house, the house of astral plane, now no one can see the trouble in physical plane (as doctors couldn't see), a big dangerous situation because the condensed power of Candra in her Rashi chart is strong enough to turn this astral trouble a physical one. Now, a doubt:The answer for her trouble is found in Navamsa Chart. The Navamsa Chart is the chart for perfect life, and there Guru is very strong, being in 12th house he controls what goes out of her life, and Dhanu in 12th points to Dharma as the valve Guru uses to know what stays in and what goes out of the life. Guest guest
OM SRI GURAVE NAMAHDear Subhava Das, This is precisely the reason why I wanted the basics to be strong. Just see what you have written. It's truly shocking to say the least for a person like me. If I were you, I'd keep a printed copy of this letter and then read it again after six months of basics and then again after a year in Varahamihira Class. Then only will you appreciate what I am trying to say. Take Samira's case. Without blinking an eyelid, you put the blame on her father when the inner problem is the eclipse combination of Moon & Ketu in Capricorn Lagnaand their placement in the eighth house in the Navamsa chart. Moon is not the root cause or weakness - it is the manifestation of the weakness. see the planets in cancer ruled by the Moon to determine the inner cause - the Venus + Rahu combination in the seventh house that causes headaches due to excessive sexuality or desire for the same (and that too during the daytime!) How is the father to blame for this? Sun+Saturn in the ninth house with exalted mercury shows that the father is a very fine person who has had a stroke of tremendous badluck and has been suffering tremendous hardship. Exalted ninth Lord in ninth house and Lord of A9 Mercury in exaltation...no, I cannot accept those things about the father. Bad luck does not make somebody a bad man. He has his vices caused by saturn and these vices were the root cause of his badluck. Study hard but do study seriously. "Will study this and not that" is a wrong attitude. In that case what you need is one of those certificates from one of the "recognised" places to hang in your room. In this place a lot of serious work is going on and be serious about this subject. Statements like Jupiter in 12th is good and all that is just too much. Instead you should say that the "12th Lord in Rasi chart placed in 12th from Lagnamsa is good, but being the Atmakaraka Jupiter will teach hard lessons about looking after spouse and children and she should not try to immitate her father's experience and instead be a dutiful spouse in her life. Keeping one's character clean is the first step in this regard". Guest guest
OM SRI GURAVE NAMAHDear Lakshmi, I like all of you so much. There are only 200 odd people in this world of billions who are here to share this joy of Jyotish with me. How can I ever thank you all for this. I am only doing what I like to do. My silence was because I was thinking... Good work with the pictures Lakshmi. In fact, pull down that hopeless frontpage and put a nice picture of Jagannath for SJVC. The present set up at www.sjvc.org looks as if Jagannath is hiding in some corner trying to avoid exposure with fools like me!Best RegardsSanjay Rathhttp://sanjayrath.tripod.com - lakshmi ramesh varahamihira Tuesday, October 30, 2001 6:08 PM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] NEW CLASSROOM FOR NEW STUDENTS OF JYOTISH Om Gurave Namah----------------Shri Sanjay,Namaste. It seems a long time since we have heard fromyou. Why this silence?I feel that in some way we have all hurt you, eitherindividually or collectively. Most certainly we havenot been able to measure upto your immense knowledge, your expectations, and your standard of perfection. Guruji, we are all small people caught up in themindless tedium of existence. And unlike you, we lackthe guts to stop existing and start living ameaningful life. You know, I tremendously admire theway you left your secure job, and tried to realiseyour dreams. It must have been a difficult decisionand you must have faced many odds because of it. I amsure it definitely required a lot of courage and innerconviction. And I realise just how much SJVC means toyou. In a world dominated by money minded, ultra smoothguys trying to "package" and "market" their limitedknow-how, you are a rare genuine person/Teacher,willing to share your vast knowledge and experiencefreely, wanting only a matching contribution ofinterest/sincerety from us. The way you praise our good points, point out ourfaults, scold us, tell us where to look, how tocorrect ourselves...Where can we get a Guru like you? Your anger/roughness openly shows your concern and howdeeply you are involved in our development. And justhow hurt you are right now....Sanjayji, you are the Guru and more than us, you knowwhat's best for us. Tell us where to go and we will. Please forgive us and do come back to the list.
