Guest guest
Jai Jagannath! Namaste dear Sanjay Rath, Some time ago I have sent this letter to your private address but you didn't reply so I thoght that may be you didn't get it and I dared to post it to the conference. This time I dare to approach you with one important question which requires your consultation. If you have 10-15 minutes please help me to understand one thing. Three weeks ago my wife gave birth to our son and I calculated his chart. He was born on the 18th of October 2001, 05:04 am (Summer time) in Vladivostok (Far East of Russia).42'5N 131'5E. So he has Leo lagna 20' with lagna lord in the first degree of the 3rd house in Libra (0.33'). According to your book Vedic Remedies in Astrology this falls in the category of Surya Dosha (Tula Sankranti) although actual date of Sun entering Libra was the day before (17th of October). Is 18th still to be considered Sankranti? Anyway looks like his Sun being the lord of Ascendent is very weak being in the 1st degree and also in the sign of its debilitation. It is also in Libra in Navamsa 1st house. You write that Surya dosha causes poverty, loss of health and many troubles related to the profession. Then you give an Upaya to counteract it consisting of Navagraha Stotra and Mritunjaya Mantra (108*2 times dayly for 40 days). So basically my question is: what the effect of this Surya Dosh could be in this particular case? My quick analysis is that most probably he will have some trouble in the belly since Sun is the 5th limb of Kala-Purusa and his 5th house is occupied by Mars and Ketu and aspected by Rahu. Is it correct understanding? Another point is that since Sun in this case represents the whole body it may refer to bones. So he may have some trouble with bones, right? Or may be he will just look fragile? The only positive factors I found were: Sun is surrounded by benefics Moon, Mercury (although it is Retrograde) and Venus (DEbilitated in Rasi but exhaulted in Navamsa) and has a 5th aspect of Jupiter from Gemini in 11th house. So what will be the cummulative effect of all this? Being Vaisnava family we gave him a name Ramai which should add some energy of Sun (Rama being the Avatar controlling the Sun). We also pray for his health daily if front of the Home altar where we have Jagannath Subhadra Baladev Murtis. By the way he was born at home in the little inflattable swiming pool under the Tulasi Tree and Hare Krsna tape was playing at the time of his birth. So what is the danger for him coming from this Surya Dosha and what is the Upaya if we are regular Vaisnavas strictly following the principles of Dharma and daily chant 16 rounds of Hare Krsna mantra for 13 years already? Do we still have to chant Nava Graha stotra (if so which one? Only for the Sun or for all planets? And what about this Mritunjaya Mantra? I know the words and I even have it on CD chanted by some Indian Brahmins). So should we try to do this Upaya for him? Sorry for taking your time but it is really important for me because this case is a little difficult for me being just a neophyte in Astrology. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannath Dear Prabhu, I did read that letter and also examined the chart, although briefly. there is nothing much to worry right now. Strengthen Mars as the natural Upaya when he grows. Nothing to worry now. Surya mantra like Gayatri is also very good. This will be more appropriate given the circumstances of sankranti, also check up the specific sankranti Vesha of surya as he has different faces on different days.
