Guest guest
Dear Shailesh, Could you post some more information regarding the kind of problems the child had at birth? With the birth so close to the border, that may help the list work out what the ascendant should be. Happy Thai Pongal, everyone! Best wishes, Nimmi - Shailesh Monday, January 14, 2002 4:06 PM [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Dear List, The attached chart [ also pasted below] belongs to a child who nearly passed away on birth - his survival was a near miracle. Because of his difficult birth, his family is scared about his survival - and if he survives, his longevity and physical/ celebral development. What I did notice is: - Badhakesh in Lagna - Starting Vim Dasa of JUP/SAT/MAR - badhakesh(7th lord)/8th lord/ 6th lord - Combination of JUP & RAHU in Lagna ( negative for fathers longevity as per BHPS...?????) - otherwise there are several Raj Yogas, etc., in the chart. Guest guest
Dear Nimmi & Visti, Thanks for responding. The baby had two problems - he had a lung infection and also the child was born with some wrapping around his chest. These two caused severe breathing problems to the child - and due to attending doctor's error, the infection prolonged to 10-12 days until another doctor took over. Secondly, the circumfrence of his head was, & is, less than normal - though brain scan finding was 'normal'. That is why the worry about celerbal development. I am also pasting here mother's chart - if it helps. Guest guest
Shailesh, You know, the one thing that gives me confidence is that in either case the child has lagnadhipadhi in lagna, giving resilience. In neither case is 8th lord associated with the ascendant or ruler. I am not sure the circumferance of the head is that important, probably gave the mother an easier birth. There are other checks for brain development etc that are done at birth and in the first year (reflexes etc) that are far more indicative. Paediatricians know these in detail. My feeling is that the ascendant is Taurus - saturn in the ascendant would give a small head whereas rahu and jupiter would, I think, make it big. Also placement of 8th lord and rahu in gemini could indicate the breathing problem. In addition 3rd ruler moon is aspected by mars and saturn. However, then saturn as 9th lord should still protect the child, and so longevity should not be a problem. And with a combined jupiter with mercury, even if rahu is there, I dont think that mental development should be hampered, especially as mercury is also 5th lord and joined with sun as 4th lord, forming a Nipuna Yog. I have a vague feeling that 2nd house with Jupiter and Mercury (and sun?) is also significant.... Best wishes, Nimmi - Shailesh varahamihira Tuesday, January 15, 2002 2:41 AM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Dear Nimmi & Visti, Thanks for responding. Best wishes, Nimmi - Visti Larsen varahamihira Tuesday, January 15, 2002 3:09 AM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Vyam Vyasadevaya Namah! -------- Dear Shailesh, Looking at the chart, i have little doubt about Taurus being the lagna. In case of Gemini Lagna; Mercury, Sun and Jupiter all being benefics for health, are in lagna protecting the native. Jupiter maybe Badhakesh, but rarely do we see the Badhakesh killing someone. Rahu here, is giving some problems thou. In case of Taurus Lagna; Saturn becomes Marana Karaka, and can kill. Venus in Lagna protects the native, and lets them grow stronger day by day. The many planets in 2nd are also Marakas remember, but theres a beneficial dominance. I was also convinced after calculating a special Hora chart, which i believe is for this purpose, but i won't comment on that. Using Taurus as Lagna, the Lagnamsa should fall in Virgo, who has Jupiter and Moon becoming Marana Karakas for it, showing near death. Venus in 8th can show premature birth. Usually in case of cesarians, e've been taught that Nodes should associate with lagna. Dunno if the case would be the same with Rahu+Mars in trines. Those were my thoughts, rather i'd have them corrected before even commenting on longevity. Best wishes, Visti. - Shailesh Monday, January 14, 2002 4:06 PM [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Dear List, The attached chart [ also pasted below] belongs to a child who nearly passed away on birth - his survival was a near miracle. Because of his difficult birth, his family is scared about his survival - and if he survives, his longevity and physical/ celebral development. Since the birth was thru a ceasarean section, birth-time could be a little inaccurate. [ There was a little confusion about time - 3.55am or 4.05am - the latter is the recorded time.] I am too novice for doing a proper analysis and, therefore, request the learned jyotishas on this list to kindly give their reading of this chart. Guest guest
Dear Nimmi, I have been able to dig out the following from classics - they appear to support TA lagna - birth-time of 4.02am or before. BPHS: CH 12 8 Coiled Birth: If there be a birth in one of Mesh, Vrishabh and Simh Lagnas, containing either Shani, or Mangal, the birth of the child is with a coil around a limb. The corresponding limb will be in accordance with the Rashi, or Navamsha, rising. SARAVALI CH 9 31. Should the 7th House and the Trines be occupied by malefics, the delivery is not without trouble. 42. When Leo, Aries, or Taurus rises with Mars, or Saturn, there will be coil around the limb, as indicated by the Navaańsha Lagna Raashi. 43-44. If the Lagna falls in a decanate of Mars, or Saturn, while malefics, or Moon occupy Lagna, with benefics relegated to 2nd, or 11th denote, that the child was born with navel cord coiled around. Should the Sun be in a Quadruped Sign, while others with strength remain in Dual Signs, it indicates, that twins were born coiled by same navel cord. This also gives him Mars decanate rising(the last point above: 43-44). But the limbs corresponding to lagnas in D-1 & D-9 would be face & hips respectively - isn't it!! Reg. the significance of head-circumfrence, even I am not sure. But I do remember that whenever we took our younger to son this particular paediatrician for any chech-up, he used to measure his head's circumfrence - always.[His head appeared to be unduly large at that age]. However, I have SA in Lagna, but a have a large [swollen ??? ] head :-) - so too with my elder son - we have problem finding right-sized caps, round-neck T-shirts, etc. And, reg. planets in 2H, are you referring to the following: [CH. 34] 15-20. PRINCIPLES RELATED TO THE 2ND HOUSE: If Mars, Saturn and the Sun occupy the 2nd House, the native’s wealth is destroyed. If weak Moon aspects the 2nd House, such effects are more pronounced. Mars and the Sun in the 2nd cause afflictions to skin apart from causing poverty. If Saturn, posited alone in this House, is aspected by Mercury, he will be greatly rich. Please guide me. Guest guest
But Shailesh, I think you have an EXALTED saturn in your ascendant! This child has a saturn just come out of debility - Shailesh varahamihira Tuesday, January 15, 2002 5:31 PM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Dear Nimmi, I have been able to dig out the following from classics - they appear to support TA lagna - birth-time of 4.02am or before. Even, if the Sun is posited in the 2nd House in aspect to Saturn, without aspect of others, pennilessness will come to pass. Benefics in the 2nd House cause advent of money in many ways. But, if Jupiter posited in the 2nd House remains under Mercury’s aspect, or Mercury so posited in the 2nd House in aspect to the Moon, the entire wealth earned by the native will be deprived. OR [CH 16] 10. JUPITER-MERCURY-SUN YOGA. Guest guest
Nimmi, If SA is the cause of smaller head, exalted SA should be more powerful to do the same- isn't it? Or does exaltation, somehow, restrict the negative/ natural tendencies of SA? And what about the other points - please throw some light on them. Shailesh Chandra Chadhascchadha - Nimmi Ragavan varahamihira Wednesday, January 16, 2002 12:00 AM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD But Shailesh, I think you have an EXALTED saturn in your ascendant! If Jupiter, Mercury and the Sun be together at birth, the native will be subjected to eye-diseases, be very wealthy, be interested in Shastras, fables, poetry, meetings and stonework and will become a good writer. Regards Shailesh Chandra Chadhascchadha - Nimmi Ragavan varahamihira Tuesday, January 15, 2002 6:36 PM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Shailesh, You know, the one thing that gives me confidence is that in either case the child has lagnadhipadhi in lagna, giving resilience. Guest guest
Shailesh, My understanding is that exaltation diminishes the negative tendencies of a planet. Also, I was only comparing the two signs to see which was more likely to support an unusually small head. Gemini seemed to be ruled out because of Rahu and Jupiter there, but I could be wrong. About the other points you mention - I dont really know much about them. I have read similar slokas about births but have no information to confirm or deny them. Nimmi - Shailesh varahamihira Tuesday, January 15, 2002 11:53 PM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Nimmi, If SA is the cause of smaller head, exalted SA should be more powerful to do the same- isn't it? Or does exaltation, somehow, restrict the negative/ natural tendencies of SA? And what about the other points - please throw some light on them. Shailesh Chandra Chadhascchadha - Nimmi Ragavan varahamihira Wednesday, January 16, 2002 12:00 AM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD But Shailesh, I think you have an EXALTED saturn in your ascendant! Guest guest
Vyam Vysadevaya Namah! ------------------- Dear Shailesh, The slokas you have qouted, aren't for Natal Jataka, rather for Adhana(Conception) Jataka. Due to new info, I have some doubts regarding the Taurus Lagna, I will answer in full, shortly Best wishes, Visti. - Shailesh varahamihira Tuesday, January 15, 2002 6:31 PM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Dear Nimmi, I have been able to dig out the following from classics - they appear to support TA lagna - birth-time of 4.02am or before. Guest guest
Dear Visti, I am not sure which Shloka are you referring to !!! The BPHS shloka that I have qouted starts with The Ch 9 of Saravali starts with '1. To know the time of delivery I have explained the AAdhaana Ch. Now I explain the natal Ch., as below., ' . The Ch 34 deals with 'Different Houses and Worldly Affairs' & Ch 16 with 'Conjunction of Three Planets'. Can you please specify?? Shailesh Chandra Chadhascchadha - Visti Larsen varahamihira Wednesday, January 16, 2002 8:04 PM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Vyam Vysadevaya Namah! Guest guest
Dear Shailesh, Just a small digress from the main theme. My friend gave birth to a boy with coil around his neck. Lagna in rashi or navamsa is neither aries, taurus nor simha, but LIBRA. However, there is an aspect of both mars and saturn on lagna(rashi dristi) and they are both in taurus navamsa(coil around the neck/upperthroat). Further Mars is in Arudha Lagna(appearance in this mayu world) in in aquarius, under the aspect of saturn from taurus. So saturn and mars should be connected to lagna to indicate the coil birth Best wishes, Zoran
Guest guest
Namaste Zoran, Thanks for the info. If you could spare some time, I would like to know your thoughts on this chart. As I mentioned to Visti, in reply to his observations, the family is very dear to us - the childs Grand Parents moved to our neighbourhood immediately after their marriage - about 30 years ago. Guest guest
Namaste Zoran An afterthought - which I put up to you for your comments. As per both BPHS and Saravali, it can be EITHER SA OR MA whereas you say it should be BOTH. Could it be that MA involvement is because, now-a-days, most of the colied-birth cases also involve surgery (ceasarean section). I had posted the relevant extracts to the list - I repeat them below. Please do clarify the above and help us improve our understanding. Guest guest
Nimmi, You are right. I found this in ove of the earliest mails(#52- from Sanjay ji) of this list: Another point is that when a planet is exalted, the negative qualities are hardly seen in the person. That's why we start learning Jyotish with the Chart of Bhagawan Sri Ram. (MARS EXALTED IN THE 7TH HOUSE IN CAPRICORN REPRESENTS HANUMANJI...Can we say that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is also a Shiva-Avatar like Hanumanji?) Shailesh Chandra Chadhascchadha - Nimmi Ragavan varahamihira Wednesday, January 16, 2002 2:03 PM Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] CHART OF A CHILD Shailesh, My understanding is that exaltation diminishes the negative tendencies of a planet.
