Re: [Hare Rama Krishna] SJVC Hyd-bad - 2nd meeting

Respected Guruvar Sanjay ji,

Namaste,

Let me start with greeting you, and all other Gurus & members of this list a very joyous & colourful HOLI.

I apologise for delay in responding to your mail - we had decided that at the third meeting we will do a detailed analysis of this chart (chart 2.1) and then present that analysis to you. We are compiling the same.

For your comment, "In fact this is a great Graha Malika with Jupiter initiating and Mercury finishing it. See the specific results for initiation from the 11th house. ", we find that your article 'EVERY SAINT HAS A. . . . .' is extremely useful and instructive.

In this process, we are stuck at the point, "Did you note that the rising Navamsa is the 8th from natal lagna. What does the shastra say about this?" and request for your guidance/ explanation.

We presume you are referring to Rasi Tulya Navamsa method above.

However, in spite of my extensive search, I could not find any explanation for Navamsa Lagna corresponding to 8th house of Rasi chart although there are explanations for planets placed in Navamsa corresponding to 8th house of Rasi chart, which is variously described as randramsa or nidhanamsa (by Zoran & CSPatel).

With sincere regards,

Shailesh

om gurave namah------------------------Dear sailesh

Good work, but you all need to improve further. Go into specifics. When you say career, try to say exactly what. When you say 'could marry outside caste', it can mean anything and that even my little daughter can say. Be as specific as you can. try to pinpoint like Arjuna. with people like Partha and Lakshmi participating this should be more detailed work. Other comments are given in red ink below. With best wishesSanjay RathWeb: http://sanjayrath.tripod.comServices: http://sanjayrath.tripod.com/zservices.htmJyotish Digest: http://jyotishdigest.com/SJVC: http://www.sjvc.org/

[Hare Rama Krishna] SJVC Hyd-bad - 2nd meeting

Respected Sanjay Guru ji,

Namaste,

Following is our report on the 2nd SJVC-Hyderabad Meeting, held on Mar. 10, 2002.

Please excuse the delay in reporting, which was primerily due to the festival holidays & the examination season, in which both myself & Lakshmi are busy.

The note has been prepared by Lakshmi and the relevant charts are attached.

We request your comments & observations to guide us and correct our collective attempts at the chart analysis.

The next meeting is scheduled for March 24th, at Lakshmi's house.

With sincere regards,

Shailesh

The meeting started at 3.30pm on 10th March at Shailesh's house and was attended by Shailesh, Partha, Nitish and Lakshmi. The first half -hour was spent in meditation, and from 4pm onwards it was all animated discussion till 7.30pm, when the meeting broke up. The first example chart (CHART 2.1) was provided by Shailesh. The chart has Gemini lagna with Moon placed in it. The lagna lord, Mercury's exalted in the 4th house. The 3rd house also has retro Venus & vargottama Sun. The group noted that with Gemini being both the lagna and chandra lagna, and the ascendant lord being placed in his own house, the physical characteristics are predominantly those of Mercury. The Capricorn Navamsa lagna and the drekkana in which Mercury is placed and their influences on physical appearance were also discussed. Description of drekkana is available in saravali. Was this discussed? Do this next time and go into each body part bringing out the strength and weakness of each part. Check the indriya's as well. Did you note that the rising Navamsa is the 8th from natal lagna. What does the shastra say about this? The group observed with interest that the lagna & moon are hemmed between Ketu, Mars(12th) and Saturn (in 2nd). Saturn has argala on the lagna, Moon and aspects the ascendant lord. Saturn also aspects 8th house (capricorn) and the 10th house lord (Jupiter-retro) placed in 11th house. That is Graha Drishti - iccha or desire and inner impulses. Aspect of Saturn on Jupiter maybe considered good as Jupiter is the 10th Lord and this brings a sambandha of sorts between the 9th & 10th lords. The Aspect on Makara is good for the eighth house whereas the aspect on Arudha Lagna shall damage the image of the person due to false aspirations. These are the desires and the results. Aspect on Mercury damages the Lagna and AL as the Karaka for Lagna & AL are the luminaries. So, this is the most damaging of all the aspects. Thus, when one planet aspects another, it s important to see which houses they rule and the natural karaka for these houses. We were told that the native had run away from home during Saturn-Saturn for a brief period and in the process considerably damaged his educational prospects (4th house aspected by Saturn). Though Saturn is the lord of 9th house also, in the first half of his mahadasa he'd give results of 8th house. Why will saturn give the results of Capricorn in the first half? Just because it has Graha Drishti? Have you noticed that the Argala to lagna has been fully destroyed by Mars & Ketu in the 12th house whereas the Argala to AL is equally obstructed by Rahu. This a bandhana for the AL. AL is damaged for quite soe time, or atleast till Saturn-Rahu ends, but the lagna has been saved from ruin. Both the houses are aspected by their lord Saturn, either by rasi drishti or by graha drishti. The group also discussed at length the grahamalika yoga starting with 11th house(Jupiter retro) and culminating in 4th house, with ascendant lord. One of the members shared the thought that grahamalika ending in upachaya house is better than one ending in a kendra. How can you say this? Ending of any Graha Malika Yoga is akin to Shiva. This placement in a dusthana or trika or even a Upachaya other than the 10th is not very desirable. In fact this is a great Graha Malika with Jupiter initiating and Mercury finishing it. See the specific results for initiation from the 11th house. Of the 3 benefics (moon is waning), 2 are retro. But since the ascendant lord is direct and exalted, it was concluded that the native would ultimately come out of woods. The Atmakaraka Rahu is placed in shastastaka position from the lagna, and hence would intensify the troubles. But the native would most probably not see Rahu dasa in his life time. Being the co-lord of Aquarius and since he aspects Saturn, perhaps Rahu is influencing the 2nd part of Saturn mahadasa and is impairing the usual benefic dasa of the 9th lord. Rahu also aspects the 10th house, indicating the volatility of the native's professional life. Good However, the group felt that the coming Mercury mahadasa would give very benefic results. Too vague.ike I said try to define good. Will he marry and have kids? Is this the happiness in his life? Is he a missionary sort of person and then what is his life's mission?

2nd example chart (CHART 2.2): This chart has Ketu in lagna (Virgo) and Jupiter & Rahu placed in 7th (Pisces). The lagna lord Mercury is in own house in 10th (gemini) with Moon (11th lord) and Mars (3rd & 8th lord). The group noted that since Jupiter (AK) is vargottama in pisces(navamsa lagna) the native would have the physical characteristics of the earthy virgo+pisces. the native is tall and plump. Ketu in lagna gives the native a laid back outlook and a marked disinterest in his own physical appearance. The group noted the guruchandala yoga in the 7th house and since Jupiter is the 4th & 7th lord (badhak) and also the AK, the likely impact on the native's education & marital life. Right now the native's running Jupiter Mahadasa. But since Jupiter is vargottama in own house (hamsa yoga), he's stronger and would prevail. The group also felt guruchandala yoga in the 7th house might make the native marry outside his caste, make him vulnerable to machinations of others (profession also) and he would in general be more sinned against than sinning. The group felt that since 9th lord is in 8th house, it might be good for inheritance, but at the sametime give trouble to father. The strong 10th house with Bhadra yoga, chandramangala yoga & gajakesari yoga would give a strong profession/good money. The arthatrikona was examined in D1 and dasamsa and also the placement of karmapada and the group felt that the likely professions for the native would be a)administrative service or b) technical job c) consultant. The association of AK with lagnamsa also indicates birth in a good family and his own rise and coupled with ketu in lagna, the group felt that the native would have strong spiritual leanings. The group also felt that Saturn (in 3rd house & lord of A3) would prove to be yogakaraka as the lord of HL & GL. So, Mass Communication was also considered as the likely area of employment. The group predicted that the native would get a job around 2012, in the vimsottari dasa of Saturn-Saturn. The group also discussed in passing 1)the lagna being kona & kendra 2) planets attaining good amsas-especially the lagna lord & yogakaraka planets 3) combustion of planets-Venus being combust giving good results.
