Guest guest
Hare Rama Krsna Dear Gurudev! I was just pondering over the issue of Saturn's exaltation in the 7th house and a sign of Venus in the natural zodiac. The issues with which I am struggling with (probably getting some answers to them) are 1. Saturn is a great lier which makes us believe that we are the body and not the soul in this world of maya (this is why Saturn is the karaka for astama and mrityupada which are the significators of life).. What makes him rejoice with the sense of acheivement in satyapeetha. Probably Saturn act like dharmaraja here !! 2. 7th house is the house of desires, whose karakatwa is governed by Venus. Why shall saturn is so delighted, giving the indications of Venus? Probably because the karakatwa of Venus increases the desire of human to stay longer (Longevity, one signification of Saturn) on earth and get punished (another signification of Saturn) by Dharmaraja. It seems, this is how the objectives of Saturn are fulfilled. 3. Is it for these very reasons, Saturn gets dikbala in the 7th? Does it mean that Saturn wants us to get in the bondage of Marriage or bhoga marga? So that, Saturn gets ample chance to fulfill its desires of falsehood and bondage in this marerial world. Hope now its easy to understand why there are always clash between Saturn and the Sun!!! Hope this mail breaks the lull in the group :-) Pranaam Sarajit Tax Center - online filing with TurboTax

Saturn is nit exalted in seventh house,ut in Libra.2. 7th house is the house of desires, whose karakatwa is governed by Venus. Why shall saturn is so delighted, giving the indications of Venus? You are twisting the simple fact. Life is not as complicated or can be very complicated depending on how we make it .3. Is it for these very reasons, Saturn gets dikbala in the 7th?Rath: definitely not. Dig is closely related to Drig. 7th is for rebirth and hence Saturn is the main cause of rebirth and hence his deity is Brahma. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krsna Dear Gurudev, Thanks for the reply, I have few other questions based on the reply you gave. They are as follows: > Hare Rama Krsna > > Dear Gurudev! > > I was just pondering over the issue of Saturn's exaltation in the 7th house and a sign of Venus in the natural zodiac. Saturn is nit exalted in seventh house,ut in Libra. Sarajit: Thank you for showing me the mirror. However, this does show, I am thinking :-). When we say Ketu is exalted in the 9th house of natural zodiac as 9th is the house of dharma, Moon in the 2nd as that is the house of Sustainance, Venus in 12th as that is the house of pleasures of bed, Jupiter in 4th as that is the house of vasudaiva kutumbakkam, what mistake did I do when I say that saturn is exalted in the 7th house of Natural Zodiac? > > 2. 7th house is the house of desires, whose karakatwa is governed by Venus. You are twisting the simple fact. Life is not as complicated or can be very complicated depending on how we make it . Sarajit: The question should have been, why Venus exalts Saturn, Venus is the karaka for Pleasures while Saturn is the karaka for sorrow. Morever, there is a point to note- Venus exalts both Moon and Saturn. Saturn is a higher octave of Moon. Is there some special meaning to that? I am still not clear why saturn gets exalted in the 7th house of natural zodiac. what it acheives from the significations of 7th? This is in line of interpreting Sun's exaltation in the Lagna, Moon's in the 2nd, Jupiter in 4th, Rahu in 3rd (copulations), Ketu in 9th (dharma) etc. in the natural zodiac. > 3. Guest guest
om gurave namah------------------------Dear Sarajit7th house is the problem. It is a satya Peetha. pisces is the sign of Maharishi's who abstain from sex and do not indulge in bed pleasures - contradicts Venus. Exaltations are not only based on signs but also on degrees. keep degrees in mind while thinking, rather, think about the nakshatra and the answers will be easier to come, then pada and finally come to the degree. For example Jupiter maybe exalted in Cancer, but what about aslesha placement and Pushya placement - there is a big difference out here. See, I have this strange habit of first giving a simple way out and then trying to gradually complicate it. You got the other point s right. Also note the difference between the benefics and malefics exaltation. Start with Creation and the life principle. Ask sarat/manpreet if you want to learn more on this. With best wishesSanjay RathWeb: http://sanjayrath.tripod.comServices: http://sanjayrath.tripod.com/zservices.htmJyotish Digest: http://jyotishdigest.com/SJVC: http://www.sjvc.org/----- Original Message ----- sarajitp varahamihira Wednesday, April 03, 2002 10:27 AMRe: [Hare Rama Krishna] Saturn's exaltation and dikbalaHare Rama KrsnaDear Gurudev,Thanks for the reply, I have few other questions based on the reply you gave.
