Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya

Dear Fellow Jyotishas and Gurus,

We have all been disturbed by what has been transpiring at SJVC during

the past 24 hours. As informed by Robert Koch in his mail, the SJVC web

site (http://www.sjvcusa.org) has been hacked. We now have the information

that this has been taken over along with the Jyotish Digest web site (http://jyotishdigest.com).

There is nothing that we can do about this, save let the anguished soul

who is doing these deeds, burn out his karma and follow his destiny. We

can only pray that the Divine Mother shows him the correct path.

We can take an adversarial stance and adopt the path of confrontation,

but as Sanjayji pointed out, in a discussion earlier in the day, that our

path in SJVC is to learn and spread the knowledge, that is jyotisha and

not to be confrontational, which might encourage any form of violence.

It is better that we do not let this negative energy influence us, and

get involved in activities which are prone to conflicts; but rather that

we continue in our chosen path towards our desired goal. Since SJVC is

taken over technically (read legal), maybe we should continue by re-registering

ourselves under a new name? An appealing suggestion for a new name is Shri

Jagannath Centre (SJC). We simply drop the 'V' and continue in Jagannath's

name! After all, our astrological studies are not limited merely to the

Vedic period but encompasses post Vedic scholars like Varahamihira, as

well as contemplating modern interpretations and inputs. Nor are we restricted

by a narrow definition of jyotish. Anchoring in jyotish, we delve into

the deep oceans of spirituality and religion and other allied subjects.

So maybe, simply Shri Jagannath Centre, is the best name that we can have,

for after all He is all encompassing and omnipresent!

This is an appeal to all of you to put aside and ignore what is happening

and not to let someone else's bad karma deflect us from our path. We can

perhaps pray together with compassion that he is saved by the divine light

and remember that we all are vulnerable to succumb to such wayward actions

at any point in time. We appeal to our gurus and fellow jyotishas as

to whether this path of action, that is of moving forward 'constructively',

is one which is acceptable to them, and that we should harness our energies

together, in this moment of need, to ensure the continuity of our parampara.

Do write back with your suggestions.

Hare Rama Krishna,

Sarbani
