Dear Sarbani

Namaste.

Where exactly in Narayana Kavacha do these mantras find place?

In Srimad Bhagavatam, Narayana kavacha slokas start from

" Om harir vithathyaan mama sarva rakshaam nyas thaangri padmaha

padakendra prushte.... " till " ......trylokya lakshmeem pupuje

vinirjithya mrudesuraan "

Ithi Sri Narayana Cavacham sampurnam. Iti srimad bhaagavathe maha

puraane sashtaskande ashtamo adyaya || Sarvatra Govinda Naama

Sangeertanam ...Govinda Govinda

(This gives you the reference in Srimad Bhagavatham)

I was taught to end Narayana Kavacham with the following:

Namami Narayana Paada Pankajam

Karomi Narayana Bhujanam Sada

Vadami Narayana Nama Nirmalam

Smaraami Narayana tatva maiyayam ||

Narayana Narayana Narayana ||

I was taught Narayana Kavacham and its efficacy by a great scholar in

Guruvayur, Kerala by the name of Anjam Sri Krishnan Nambudiri,

hailing from a great parampara and who is a renowned exponent of

Bhagavatha Sapthaham who also conducts Bhagavatha Sapthaham at Sree

Krishna Temple, Guruvayur. His Guru was his elder brother, Late Anjam

Sri Madhavan Nambudiri who was known as " Nama Acharyan " as he always

recited " Om Namo Narayanaya " and always advised everybody to recite

it. You may have heard of these great scholars because of their

Sapthahams conducted all over India for several decades now.

Thanks to this Guru, I have been reciting Narayana Kavacha for many

years now and I dont find the mantras you mentioned anywhere

there !!!!!

Have I missed anything? Please advise.

Best wishes

R. Kasthuri Rangan
