Dear List,

I came upon a sloka in Santhanams edition of BPHS, which hasn't been translated. Its sloka 30 of the Chapter on Upapada;

athopapadaadhyaaya, sloka 30:

sutÉavnva<zaCc iSwrsNtitkarkat!,

@v< iÇza<zk…{fLyamip yaeg< ivicNtyet!.30.

sutabhävanaväàçäcca sthirasantatikärakät|

evaà triçäàçakuëòalyämapi yogaà vicintayet||30||

Has Sharmas edition attempted a translation?

Om krishna guru :

Pranaam Visti and Guruji :

The GC sharmas' edition that I have does not mention translation of

the above shloka

> sutabhävanaväàçäcca sthirasantatikärakät|

> evaà triçäàçakuëòalyämapi yogaà vicintayet||30||

I will try to attempt deciphering some part of the shloka

Suta - Son (may also mean child)

bhava - probably same as bhava

Navamshachacha -(probably means 'of navamsha')

sthira - fixed

santati - children

karakat - from karaka

evaa - and

trishamshakundalyamapi - trishamsa kudali (chart) also

yogam - yogas

vichintayet - I am not sure of this, probably means

said or mentioned (could be wrong)

I assume that the shloka deciphers as

whatever yogas mentioned before also must be checked from putra bhava

of navamsha, fixed significator of children and trishamsa chart also.

I could be very wrong here, I request the gurus to correct me.

Dear Ishwar,

Well tried.

Here is what it means:

sutabhäva - 5th House

naväàçäcca - Namavamsah + cha = also from navamsa

sthirasantatikärakät = Sthira+ Santana+ Karakat - from the sthira santana Karakaevaà - also

triçäàçakuëòalyämapi - Trimsamsa +Kundalim + Api = Also from Trimsamsa Kundali

yogaà - Yogas

vicintayet - Judge /Think

Judge the yogas from the 5th house, Navamsa, sthira putra karaka and trimsamsa kundali

All the best

Sarajit
