Guest guest
Dear Jyotisha, Jaya Jagannath. The Venkatesha Sharma Varga Workshop held at Hyderabad from 2nd - 10th December was completed successfully. It was nine days of packed sessions with a variety of papers presented on specific vargas individually, as well as different ways of approaching divisional charts. The Workshop started each morning with hymns and devotional songs in the melodious voice of Purushottamam. SJC gurus Sanjay Rath, Phyllis Chubb, Sat Siri Khalsa, Gauranga Das, Shiv Pujan, Visti Larsen and Sarajit Poddar made detailed presentations of at least 2-3 papers each on the different aspects of divisional charts. Papers were also presented by G. K. Goel, Andrew Foss and Satya Prakash Choudhary. It was the first time that SJC India members got a chance to meet their gurus and interact with each other, creating an intense, happy and familial atmosphere. Needless to say, that in true SJC spirit, the discussions continued well beyond the midnight hours and commenced at the crack of dawn! The papers presented were released at the Workshop in the form of a book entittled Varga Chakra. Those interested in obtaining a copy may please get in touch with Sagar Publications, Delhi. The SJC Hyderabad group did a fantastic job at organization working round the clock and ensuring that everything went off smoothly. They are now in the process of finalising the tapes and CDs of the Workshop and working out an appropriate price amenable to all. This is only a beginning for us, and we are looking towards holding several regional workshops in India apart from the regular Annual Conference, similar to the one held in Hyderabad recently. We will keep you posted regularly as our plans progress. At the end of the conference, the group made a trip to Tirupati to pay their obeisance to Lord Venkateshwara. With best regards, Sarbani Sarkar
