Hi sarajit,

I have a small query. Can you tell me why

relatively more importance is given to nakshatra,

Vaara and Tithi out of panchangas', despite yoga being

ruled by jupiter? Should we even talk like this i.e.

in terms of relative importance, because the

beneficience/maleficience of pancha angas doesn't make

any sense to me?

In short, what connotations do I attach to this so

generic word " rulership " ... when I talk of rashi

rulership,nakshatra rulership, rulership in

divisionals by divisional deities, rulership of

directions, tattwas, Horas, and now rulership of

astrological tools as well!!! (Diverse and abstract!)

Is there some kind of 'grouping together' possible

for some of these " rulerships " , which relate at least

any two of them at some level? E.g. Grouping of Rashi

and nakshatra rulership occurs in navamsa and we know

the effects and importance of so happening!!!

May be an extended version of the same central

philosophy i.e. of benefic/malefic and

auspicious/inauspicious can be applied to all. Just

guessing! Please be illustrative and give a more

complete picture.

regards,

nitish

Dear Nitish,

All the five angas have their importance and utility. Lets see what is that.

1. Vara - Weekday - Agni Tattva - Shows the phisical strength and vitality

2. Nakshatra - Asterism - Vayu Tattva - Shows Experiences of the mind

3. Tithi - Lunar day - Jala Tattva - Shows the focus of the mind

4. Karana - Half tithi - Prithvi tattva - shows success or failure

5. Yoga - Sun , Moon combination - Akash Tattva - shows the relationships

These elements can be used in Muhurtha or prasna or even in natal

horoscopes.

Best Wishes

Sarajit
