Moola Dasa: Confirming Calculations

Namaskar,

Can some one assist ( if possible) with Lagna Kendradi Graha Dasa

( Moola Dasa) calcuation confirmation.... I am doing the calculation

by hand and checking it with JHora 5.0, full version.

I do not get the same starting dasa period - that is, Jhora

Starts with Mercury, and I start with Moon.

 

I am using the instructions given by Sanjayji in his Moola Dasa

paper(dated 1999).

Here's what I am doing: ( also will put my birth chart/data at the

end of this if someone cares to assist)

 

1. Dasa Begins from Lagna or other Kendra in strength.

a. Lagna is Sc, with no graha...the only Kendra with a planet

is Ta, which has Moon in Rohini and in Moolatrikona position.

b. Period of Dasa: Count the number of signs to the Grahas

Moolatrikona sign: in this case 1 sign ( Chandra in Ta)

c. Subtract this number (1) from the number of years assigned

in Vimsottari period assigned to the planet ( for moon , 10).

So 10-1 = 9 years.

RIDER 1: add one year if exalted ( Moon exalted in Ta)

therefore 9 +1 = 10 years.

d. Final Moola Dasa for the FIRST PERIOD is MOON and 10 years.

 

What have I missed? why would Jhora start with Mercury In Apoklimas?

I can see Mercury's strenth beging first for that dasa sequience,

yet not clear on it starting he Moola Dasa.
