Guest guest
hamsa om soham Ayus is a function of dharma, and the three-footed principle of dharma applies. (i.e. odd and even-footed houses) The vriddha karika houses are simply the set of successive 8th houses. The first vriddha karika house in an even-footed set is reckoned anti-zodiacally. The vriddha karika lord cannot be the lagna lord. If this happens, determine the vriddha karika house from the sign previously arrived at. Odd-footed houses: Ari-Tau-Gem, Lib-Sco-Sag Even-footed houses: Can-Leo-Vir, Cap-Aqu-Pis The 8th house from Aries is Scorpio. The 8th house from Scorpio is Gemini. The 8th house from Gemini is Capricorn. Thus the first three vriddha karika houses are Scorpio, Gemini & Capricorn. The 8th house from Cancer (AZ) is Sagittarius. The 8th from Sagittarius is Cancer. The 8th from Cancer is Aquarius. Thus the next three vriddha karika houses are Sagittarius, Cancer & Aquarius. Similarly, the vriddha karika houses for the other sets of odd and even-footed houses can be determined. A memory aid: a) count zodiacally for odd-footed houses, and anti-zodiacally for even-footed houses b) For moveable & dual houses, take the 8th house therefrom c) For fixed houses, take the 2nd house ajit - Visti Larsen varahamihira Sunday, June 15, 2003 2:02 PM Re: |Sri Varaha| 8th house reckoner chart |Hare Rama Krisna| Dear Laxmi, I studied it and found these phenomena occuring: i. movable & dual: 8th house. ii. fixed: 12th house. iii. For even signs reckon in reverse. iv. If the resultant lord is the same as lagna lord, count 8th/12th from that sign, and take the lord.
