You are missing the fact that SJC office bearers also require breaks! I was out of town for the last month or so and returned to Delhi only yesterday afternoon. I have been out of the list as well, accept for co-ordinating essential administrative mails from a friends' computer once a week. I did access mail from a cyber cafe in Calcutta a couple of days ago and saw your mail but could not reply as the reply process was not functioning. SJC does not yet have that kind of money to keep multiple office staff who would answer mails in my absence. We do have an office assistant who continues to do all the work in my absence, like depositing the cheques etc. So your cheque has not only been deposited but cleared as well. I was apprised of this only today. This mail also goes out to others who have send in their fees and subscriptions during the past month. I will look into them now and reply to all of you individually the way I normally do. Thank you for bearing with me.

I cannot check my bank balance to verify because it has already been deducted at the time of making out the demand draft and thus I must ensure it has reached safely.This silence is really most extraordinary.
