Guest guest
Sarajit Sandhya puja is always at sunset, traditionally. I mean, the main thing I remember about my grandmother (passed away many decades back) is the " batasha " (Bengali hard sweet) thrown at all of us children in the huge jt family house when I was about 5 or 6 yrs old, at EVENING. Anyway, back to astrology - why is Sandhya not EXACTLY at Sunrise & Sunset? Does it AGAIN have to do with the 6 am LMT thing, ie 6 hrs before & after noon, when the Sun is ALWAYS EXACTLY overhead? Or is this some NEW funda you want us to mull over. You know, everyday things get more complex. The other day, I attemped Narasimha's 2nd exercise to us in our jyotish class. His question to us was pretty innocuous - what is the significance of 2nd from various references? " Daant kot kot korlo " (bengali for teeth chattering (with the effort)) trying to answer it. Anyway, have made an attempt, & waiting for his comments on my answers. Incidentally, my bro-in-law is in Singapore for over a decade - he is also from IIM, Cal (yr neighbour). If you ever need his ref (just, like home food, etc, if u miss India), give me a shout on my psnl e-id, ie nanadhan. His e-id= anujm , Anuj_Mahajan . But do give me a shout first, so that I can intro you.
