Guest guest
I read recently some words from a Jyotishi of some experience. (I apologise for not remembering the source) He said that 'a mistake in our reading to a client is very bad karma similar to killing of a Brahmin " . I found these words shocking, I apologise if they are to any one else too, but the words made me ponder a lot on the subject. I recently told a friend that her having Mars and Venus closer than 1 degree together in the 8th house were the most likely cause of her feeling 'asexual' and having 'no sexual interest'. I told her she should seriously consider a compatibility reading before considering marriage because of potential for widowhood. But I thought after... " I think this was fair to say BUT!!! what if that advice was wrong and it caused undue anxiety.... then as astrologer my advice to such alert ears could be unhelpful or worse... I thought this topic could bring threads of interesting feedback for my own understanding if I flagged it up here in discussion. How do you all feel about this? Best wishes Simon
Guest guest
Dear Simon, the experienced and wise Jyotishi said " a mistake in our reading to a client is very bad karma similar to killing of a Brahmin " . YES. YES. YES. Professional and " hobby " astrologers DO have a HUGE responsibility. Every false or even worse heart-less and thought-less word or chart interpretation can lead to own bad karma. All of us, please reflect on this. Do not give quick answers, and if you do so, tell clients that this is just a first, superficial answer and there must be deeper insight. As I said earlier, astrologers also have an ego. They want to prove themselves and their ego. Let us think about our client's problems: Severe profession, marriage, progeny and health problems. Most of our clients have a difficult life period, and they need REAL and SERIOUS help and support. They primarily trust in us astrologers, and often they are in dispair, nearly hopeless. Let us reflect on this, and let us get better with chart interpretation in order to give CORRECT interpretation. If not - our bad karma increases. That is true. True. True. Parashara about an astrologer's qualification: " O Maitreya, the words of one, who has achieved skill in mathematics, one, who has put in industrious efforts in the branch of grammar, one, who has knowledge of justice, one, who is intelligent, one, who has knowledge of geography, space and time, one, who has conquered his senses, one, who is skilfully logical (in estimation) and one, who is favourable to Jyotish, will doubtless be truthful. " In modern times, psychological and communicative abilities are required as well. Simon, thank you very much for this PRECIOUS hint! Yours Sincerely Pascal *** P.S. Planets with one degree or less together are in " planetary war " . Both are damaged, but the planet with the lower degree wins. Planetary war between Mars and Venus is to be found in Hitler's chart. (Venus is Atmakaraka and loses in this war).

Guest guest
dear simon, interesting what you have written here. please do not worry about what you have predicted. long back on chat with visti larsen, we had discussed astro readings failing or not coming true. he very clearly told me that it is the karma of the NATIVE whose chart you are reading to have a wrong prediction. SO please remain calm and let it not worry you. also this message interested me as i have mars, venus in 8th house. i divorced after 18years of marriage and my ex husband is healthy and alive! PEACE and LOVE rhoda I read recently some words from a Jyotishi of some experience.
