The 40,000-acre (16,000-hectare) blaze is raging in San Bernardino County, 125 miles (200km) east of Los Angeles. About 1,350 firefighters have been deployed to tackle the fire, which has destroyed 100 buildings. The popular Hollywood film location of Pioneertown was evacuated but was spared any major damage. Lightning strikes Officials said that so far only 20% of the fire had been contained. There were fears it might merge with a smaller, 1,200-acre fire burning in the San Bernardino National Forest. The main fire was started by lightning strikes last weekend. Two civilians and nine firefighters have been treated for smoke inhalation or minor burns. Nine air tankers, 12 helicopters and 100 fire engines are tackling the blaze. Weather forecasters continue to predict temperatures topping 40C with low humidity. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/5178722.stm US dasha: Ve/Sa/Mo/Ke/Ma CALIFORNIA dasha: Sa/Su/Me/Ra/Ra   satva Jorge Angelino Rua da Sociedade Filarmónica Perpétua Azeitonense, 29 2925-598 Azeitão Portugal jorge.angelino tel: mobile: 210813674 963916784 Add me to your address book...
