There were flash floods and landslides as monsoon rains inundated the eastern province of Gangwon. More than 2,000 people are reported to have fled their homes and are in emergency shelters. The severe weather is forecast to continue over the next few days with the capital, Seoul, also affected. The 10 confirmed victims were killed by mudslides in Inje, 165km (102 miles) east of Seoul, and Pyeongchang, 180km (112 miles) east of the capital, the emergencies agency was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
