Thousands Of Detroit Teachers To Rally

After an unsuccessful weekend

meeting, Detroit Public School District teachers and officials continue

negotiations for new contracts.

Teachers are planning to

rally on Tuesday in front of the district offices at the Fisher Theater.

Nearly 10,000 members of the

union are expected to participate in the march. On Sunday, teachers will vote

at the COBO Center on whether or not to report to work on Aug. 28.

School is scheduled to begin

Sept. 5.
