Guest guest
Hello list, Vyas Munidas has been doing some very interesting work, having discovered a link between the US stock market and the condition of Mars in transit. That said, his analysis has not been incorporating the functional angle, as he has primarily been focusing on contacts in the general zodiac. Nevertheless, his knack for picking up interesting contacts is very helpful for other astrologers interested in applying these insights to a natal chart they consider holding promise. A chart that explains past major drops in the US stock market pretty well in the USA is the 21° Cancer rising chart. This chart places Mars as L10 in H5 at 25° 51' Scorpio and closely conjunct L8 Saturn at 28° 28'. L10 Mars brings with it managerial and industrial emphasis to the house of creativity, entertainment and speculation. The nearness to L8 Saturn brings easy gains but also endings. Natal L3 Mercury is in infancy and debilitation in H9, signifying progress with innovations and business start ups, notably related to telecommunications and transportation, but due to the weakness of the placement those things are liable to setbacks. On 25 October 1929 when the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) suffered a large drop heralding the onset of the Great Depression of the 1930s, Ra/Me period was running. Transit L6 Jupiter was at 22° Taurus conjunct H11 MEP and in oppostion to natal Mars and aspecting transit Mercury in H3, while transit Mars was at 19° Libra conjunct the H4 MEP and transit and natal nodal axis. On 19 October 1987 when the DJIA suffered its larges drop in almost 60 years transit Me/Ju period was running and L8 Saturn was at 23° Scorpio conjunct H5 MEP and natal L10 Mars. Transit L6 Jupiter was on that day also exactly opposite transit L2 Sun, both in infancy. Transit Mars was widely conjunct transit nodal axis. Transit L3 Mercury and L4 Venus were in H4 widely conjunct natal nodal axis. On 14 April 2000, the stock market was also in stress, with notably the Nasdaq market falling like a knife. The DJIA also dropped almost 6% on that day. Ve/Ve period was running. Transit L10 Mars was in H6 in infancy. The transit nodes were in H12 and H6 in exact aspect to their natal placement. Transit L8 Saturn was at 5° Taurus conjunct L11 Moon at 2° 34' Taurus and opposite natal L6 Jupiter at 6° 25' Scorpio. Transit L4 Venus at 8° Pisces/H9 was under close aspect of natal L6 Jupiter. From late 2002 to Spring of 2003 transit L8 Saturn in H12 was tenth house aspecting natal L3 Mercury. As predicted, when this aspect lifted share prices rose in the USA. Around 22 October 2007, Ve/Ra period will be running and transit L6 Jupiter will be at 23° Scorpio and conjunct natal Mars. Transit L8 and Ketu will be conjunct at 11° Leo under aspect from natal Rahu in H10. Transit L10 Mars will be at 14° Gemini/H12 under exact aspect from natal Ketu in H4 and transit Rahu in H8. At that time, the US stock market looks to be in serious trouble. Best regards, C Stay in the know. Pulse on the new .com. Check it out. Guest guest
Dear Cosmologer, Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Let us look first to the role of Mars in the rectified chart of US, and then let us analyse the dates refered by you: Mars is L6 (financial stability) and is placed in H7 (foreign trade), in Taurus (earning capacity of the nation, profit and loss, shares of stock, national trade). It is 85% old and its house of placement is exactly afflicted by Ketu. H5 relates to affairs of stock exchanges, speculations, and public investments. H6 (financial solvency of the nation) is the second house (gains) from H5 and relates to gains (or losses) from stock exchanges, speculations, etc. On 25 October 1929 when the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) suffered a large drop heralding the onset of the Great Depression of the 1930s, the dasha was Ra/Su/Me/Me/Sa. Transit Rahu was badly placed and afflicted by Mars. Transit Sun was debilitated and badly placed, and natal Sun was exactly afflicted by transit afflicted Ketu. Transit Mercury, L11, was afflicted by natal Ketu, and its MT house was afflicted by the MMP, Venus. Transit Saturn was afflicted by natal Mars. Transit Jupiter (financial significator), L2, is retrograde in H7 and closely afflicted by badly placed and afflicted Mars, and natal Jupiter is closely afflicted by afflicted & badly placed stationary Ketu. When Jupiter is afflicted it refers to purchases made at a price far above their real value. H6 was afflicted by stationary Rahu/Ketu axis, and Mars, L6, was exactly afflicted by the Ketu/Rahu axis and badly placed in H12 (losses).  On 19 October 1987 when the DJIA suffered its largest drop in almost 60 years, the dasha was Ke/Ra/Ju/Me/Ve. H6 was afflicted by transit Venus, and transit Mars, L6, was afflicted by natal Ketu. Transit Jupiter, L2, was extremely weak and retrograde in the afflicted H6, and transit Mercury, L11, was retrograde and closely afflicted by transit Venus in H12 (losses). Transit Rahu/Ketu axis was afflicted by transit Mars, and transit Rahu was afflicting natal retrograde Mercury. Transit Mars was afflicting MEP2, MEP5 and MEP11. On 14 April 2000, the stock market was also in stress, with notably the Nasdaq market falling like a knife. The DJIA also dropped almost 6% on that day. The dasha was Ve/Ra/Me/Ve/Ra. Transit Venus was exactly over MEP5, afflicting also MEP11. Transit Rahu/Ketu axis was exactly over natal Mercury, and transit Mercury was in the afflicted H5, afflicted by transit Rahu. Transit Jupiter and Saturn were badly placed in H6 and afflicted by transit Mars. Transit Sun has just entered H6. It seems the rectified chart of US can also explain very well the fluctuations in the stock market. Guest guest
Dear Jorge, Importantly, a prediction was attached to the Cancer rising chart. It would be helpful to the evaluation of the Scorpio rising chart if predictions were made against it. Claims can be made about many charts when holding them up against past history. However, only accurate predictions can resolve the doubt. Unless the predictions are made, no one will know for sure. Guest guest
Dear Cosmologer, I understand your point of view. As you know, a few correct predictions using the rectified chart of US were made in the past by me and by the Professor. However, at the moment, I feel no need to make any prediction to prove anything. The rectified charts for all the countries are there, available to everyone. It is up to the people to use them or not. No problem. I am using the rectified charts, because I know how they came about. Anyway, subjectivity exists in predictions as well. Best wishes, Jorge SAMVA [sAMVA ] On Behalf Of cosmologer sábado, 14 de Outubro de 2006 01:22 SAMVA Re: USA Cancer rising chart and US stock market Dear Jorge, Importantly, a prediction was attached to the Cancer rising chart. It would be helpful to the evaluation of the Scorpio rising chart if predictions were made against it. Claims can be made about many charts when holding them up against past history. However, only accurate predictions can resolve the doubt. Unless the predictions are made, no one will know for sure. Guest guest
Dearest Jorge and Cosmologer, Your ongoing discussion on this is excellent. I'll spare my two cents if you'll have it. I can take almost any ascendant and justify rises or falls with pretty good arguments, however if we have to reach too deeply and it doesn't just jump off the page, then it's likely that there is a problem. Accurate predictions can be made with either the Cn or Sc ascendant chart because of the parallel significations attached to various houses and planets - this we have seen clearly in your ongoing banter. Little can be solved by the occasional random prediction. If you gents really want to settle this once and for all, may I suggest that you predict more often and keep a tally with some sort of structure. If you like, I can keep the score and present the upcoming situations for your predictions. Statistical accuracy is the key. Otherwise, the issue cannot be resolved in a timely fashion, if ever. Who's game? Best regards, Vyas Munidas
Guest guest
Dear Vyas, I am keeping an eye on all the mundane rectified charts and, as you know, I will be the first to correct anyone if need comes up. However, regarding the US rectified chart, at the moment I feel no need to spend more time on it. Those who want to use the rectified charts are free/welcome to use them. Those who have doubts and/or prefer to use other charts, it is OK. No problem. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Thank you for the suggestion to increase the number of predictions and following them in a structured way. Time is the limiting factor in several ways. First, the predictions are made in advance covering months or years, requiring one to wait. Second, significant transit triggers are not commonplace and one has to wait for these. Third, we have limited time due to other activities in life. The reason that the Cancer chart is being followed is because it has given correct predictions in the past. If the time (15:18) is truly wrong (the known historical evidence suggests the ratification took place around 12:00), we should at least allow this chart to fail on predictive grounds. Such a scientific approach would remove any doubt about the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the historical information going back over two hundred years. Numerous realised predictions have been made on SAMVA in years past regarding this chart, but some are by now, unfortunately, lost threads. From memory, and other list members may be able to corroborate this, in late July 2001 it was predicted on the basis of this chart that the USA would be engaged in some sort of military activity from September of that year and that there would be a drop in the US stock market. This prediction was realised when the Al Queda terrorists attacked the country and a " War of Terror " is said to have begun by the US authorities. The stock market, which was closed for a week, saw falling prices that fall as a result of the geopolitical events. The US military, at the orders of the President, then sent troops into Afghanistan at noon time on 7 October. This event had been predicted with an accuracy of the actual day AND the actual time (to within 15 minutes) of the attacks in Afghanistan. The astrologer making the prediction was Neville Lange. He made the prediction in the second half of September 2001 using the Cancer chart. The discussion on SAMVA exploded in the wake of that amazingly accurate prediction being realised, as can be seen on the monthly message counter on the home page. The transits in the US Cancer rising chart are quite compelling. Transit L8 Saturn in H11 was EXACTLY square natal L2 Sun in H8 at the time of the attacks and remained stationary at that degree for some time afterwards, signifying the strain of the attacks on the communal harmony. L8 Saturn in H5 natally afflicts L4 Venus in H7, hence obstacles and endings are a prime influence on the communal harmony of the USA. Moreoer, L6 Jupiter was in Gemini at the time and stationary aspecting L2 Sun, further accentuating the military side of things. In retrospect it can also explain the strange case of Anthrax poisonings that developed in the next few months. had earlier suggested the chart had merit and detailed the reasons why. Further accurate predictions have been made against this chart, including the one I mentioned in my post about a recovery of the stock market from the Spring of 2003, as the long standing affliction of transit L8 Saturn in H12 to natal L3 Mercury in H9 was lifted. On 3 September 2006, it was predicted that the US housing market would deteriorate this fall as transit L8 Saturn in H1 began to afflict natal L4 Venus in H7. It was also predicted this would have a negative effect on economic growth. Further, it was predicted that as transit Jupiter in Scorpio / H5 and Rahu in Pisces / H9 afflict natal L3 Mercury in H9 that the stock market would also decline as those aspects became close. The timing of this event is slightly later than the aspect of Saturn to Venus (now in full force). In recent weeks the evidence has begun to appear showing the US housing market is actually contracting for the first time in a long time. Housing prices in late September were reported to have begun declining, which is a first. Unsold housing inventories are now reported to be increasing, involving perhaps a third of newly constructed houses. Further, the central bank of the USA earlier this week warned that economic growth may be negatively affected already in the second half of this year. Generally, has warned about the weak transits this fall. Last year I also warned about this situation when I put up a Power Point file in the Files section of SAMVA showing that the combined planetary strength this fall was historically low, indicating problems where the planets serve as functional malefics and the nodes can trigger events in natal charts. The aspect of Rahu to Jupiter is especially important in this regard. This aspect ties in with the weak Mercury in the US Cancer rising chart. Yesterday, the additional prediction was made that the stock market in October 2007 would be in big trouble as L6 Jupiter would be transit conjunct L10 Mars in H5, while transit L8 Saturn is conjunct transit Ketu under the aspect of natal Rahu in H10 and transit Rahu in H8. Meanwhile, natal Ketu afflicts transit L10 Mars in H12 and transit Rahu in H8 also afflicts it. I think this is already a rather full plate, given that such triggers appear only infrequently. In any event, your suggestion to keep better track of any predictions made is a good one. Finally, I am not arguing with our good friend Jorge Angelino. As I see it, we are simply testing different charts. I have great respect for his effort and his ability as an astrologer. However, I did not want to abandon the Cancer rising chart for the USA without having become convinced that it was correct to do so. The coming months and year will hopefully help resolve that issue. Let me just say that we are working on a number of charts here and a structural approach would be very helpful to keep a track of the predictions made. Perhaps some form of log on SAMVA would be helpful... Best wishes, C SAMVA , " Vyas Munidas " <muni> wrote: > > Dearest Jorge and Cosmologer, > > Your ongoing discussion on this is excellent.
