Guest guest
Hello list members, has mentioned that with so many slow moving planets changing signs, there could be change of trends in world affairs. Jupiter has already entered Scorpio and Saturn entered Leo a few days ago. Next week Rahu will enter Aquarius and Ketu enter Leo. A quick survey of Rahu in Aquarius (and Ketu in Leo) shows that it has been accompanied by world tension, often some major war or new direction. It struck me that when the nodes were stationary around 14° Aquarius/Leo major events have taken place. A summary review is included below. Interestingly, the nodes will become stationary around 13° Aquarius/Leo in the summer of 2007. ---- Rahu in Aquarius / Ketu in Leo Nov 14,1913 - May 10,1915 Major event: Outbreak of World War I from June 28-August 4, 1914 Astrological signature: Rahu was stationary at 14° Aquarius; Saturn was in infancy in Gemini and Jupiter was in old age in Capricorn. Jun 3,1932 - Nov 29,1933 Major events: FDR elected US president on 8 Nov. 1932 and begins in March 1933 the " New Deal " to catapult US out of financial crisis and mass unemployment. Hitler becomes Chancellor on 30 January 1933, seizes power on 25 March 1933 and begins to build a fascist military dictatorship and persecute Jews and non-Aryans. Germany and Japan withdraw from the League of Nations (forerunner of the United Nations). Astrological signature: Rahu was stationary at 14° Aquarius in early 1933; Saturn was in full strength in Capricorn and Jupiter in Leo. Dec 23,1950 - Jun 19,1952 Major events: Height of cold war. McCarthy began hunt for US communists in 1950. Korean War began in June 1950, with Chinese army capturing Seoul in South Korea in 1951. Six nations form European Coal and Steel Community in April 1951 (became European Union). Greece and Turkey join NATO. Astrological signature: Rahu was stationary at 25° Aquarius in early 1951 and 16° Aquarius in late summer 1951. Jul 12,1969 - Mar 14,1971 Major events: Height of Vietnam war with tide of war turning against USA. Civil strife in Northern Irland. Astrological signature: Rahu was stationary at 27° Aquarius in Autumn 1969 and 18° Aquarius in early 1970. Saturn in Aries and Jupiter in Virgo and Libra. Feb 3,1988 - Oct 19,1989 Major events: Height of Soviet war in Afghanistan, with tide turning against them. Terrorist attack on airliners over Lockerbie. USS Vincennes shoots down Air Iran flight. Fall of Berlin Wall. Astrological signature: Rahu was stationary at 29° Aquarius in early 1988 and 20° Aquarius in late summer 1988 and 11° Aquarius in early 1989. Saturn in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Aries, Taurus and Gemini. Nov 9,2006 - May 6,2008 Major events: what will happen with US war in Iraq? What will happen to states such as the dictatorial and highly armed regime of North Korea, religious state of Iran, secular state of Israel, or strong man rule in Venezuela and Cuba? Astrological signature: Rahu is stationary at 22° Aquarius in early 2007 and 13° Aquarius in summer 2007 and 4° Aquarius in early 2008. Saturn in Leo, Cancer and Leo. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Thank you for the more specific approach to the transits in the coming year. My research had the focus to see if there were common elements in earlier transits of the nodes through Aquarius and Leo. Interestingly, the passage of the nodes through these signs seems to have been accompanied by major global tension. As for the specific times indicated by you, when the nodes will be in stationary movement, the tension surrounding their placement should be especially pronounced. Contacts with other planets then become more sensitive. The explosive Mars-Ketu contact also occured in the first part of July 1914. In addition to this contact there are often other aspects at work. For example, in 2007, the situation could be quite interesting on or around the days indicated by you, especially in mid August, when the other planets are weak and potentially afflicted. In particular, please note that Saturn's strenght will be low in the first eight months of 2007. Around 17 August 2007 the sun will also be in infancy in Leo. As per the rule that weak malefics are more harmful, the malefic energy of Ketu and Rahu should be higher than usual at that time. Sun will also be conjunct/combust Mercury, Venus and Saturn. The weakness of the Sun further undermine these planets and also Ketu, making the situation even more vulnerable. In summer of 1914 Saturn was in old age in Taurus and infancy in Gemini when the hostilities broke out. Both Taurus and Gemini are non- MT signs and thus not further vulnerable to weakness of their dispositor. Jupiter was also weak in old age in Capricorn at that time. In early 1933 Saturn was strong in Capricorn, also a non-MT sign, while Jupiter was weak in old age in Leo. In 1951 Saturn was in Virgo and thus vulneralble to the frequent bouts of weakness by its dispositor Mercury. Jupiter was strong in Pisces. In 1970 Saturn was in Aries, its sign of debilitation and thus quite weak, while also being vulneralble to periodic weakness of its dispositor Mars. Jupiter was mostly strong in Libra. In 1988 Saturn was in Sagittarius in variable strength throughout the year and in 1989 also when its dispositor, Jupiter, was in infancy in Taurus. In 2007 Saturn will, as noted above, mostly be weak in the first eight months as it passes through Cancer in retrograde movement and then it reverses after being stationary around 24° Cancer in the Spring. It then passes again into Leo in mid July and regains full strength by moving out of infancy towards the end of August. Fortunately, Jupiter remains strong in Scorpio during this time. It is in July and August when the nodes will be stationary around 13° Aquarius and Leo, Saturn will again be in weakness. This could be an interesting time to follow. The tension could become high. Hopefully, this time passes without major incident. Guest guest
Dear David, Thank you for the kind words. Glad to know you find it of interest. As has indicated the major astrology story of 2007 will likely be the conjunction of Ketu and Saturn. That said, the station of the nodes at 13° Aquarius and Leo may also create significant tension. It looks like 2007 will be a busy year. A graph of the Ketu-Saturn conjunction in 2007 may been seen in the Photos section and SA Theory sub section of the SAMVA web page. Guest guest
Dear C. and others. We can also note that for many years, we have been able to use Gemini rising sign charts as the basis for muhurtas. This is because, other than Rahu and Ketu, there are no other functional malefic planets for Gemini, and the transits of the slow-moving planets have been in favorable houses. Unfortunately, during 2007, Jupiter will be transiting the sixth house for Geminis, so this chart will not be generally be available for muhurtas, and these will be fewer and farther between. Guest guest
Dear C, You're welcome. Yes, I fully agree. My belief is that Ketu in Leo is the major cause of tensions as the Sun signifies heads of states. Taken with Ra in Aq, we have the feet and head of society affected greatly. The stationary situation in the first quarter of the year, affecting a powerful range of degrees, has the potential to be very difficult. (On a non-astrological note, one thing that's very striking about the Aug 16 transit is the symmetry. I haven't read anything about that anywhere, but it jumps out at you.) Best regards, Vyas Munidas - cosmologer SAMVA Sunday, November 05, 2006 5:18 AM Re: What will transit of Rahu in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo bring? Hopefully, this time passes without major incident.Best regards,CBest regards,CSAMVA , "Vyas Munidas" <muni> wrote:>> Dear C,> > I made a similar study of the axis transits in the middle of August this year. Guest guest
Dear Vyas: I really appreciated your statement: "My belief is that Ketu in Leo is the major cause of tensions as the Sun signifies heads of states. Taken with Ra in Aq, we have the feet and head of society affected greatly. The stationary situation in the first quarter of the year, affecting a powerful range of degrees, has the potential to be very difficult. " Very good observation! David Hawthorne - Vyas Munidas SAMVA Sunday, November 05, 2006 1:59 PM Re: Re: What will transit of Rahu in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo bring? Dear Vyas,Thank you for the more specific approach to the transits in the coming year. Both Taurus and Gemini are non-MT signs and thus not further vulnerable to weakness of their dispositor. Jupiter was also weak in old age in Capricorn at that time.In early 1933 Saturn was strong in Capricorn, also a non-MT sign, while Jupiter was weak in old age in Leo.In 1951 Saturn was in Virgo and thus vulneralble to the frequent bouts of weakness by its dispositor Mercury. Guest guest
Hello Professor & Everyone: With Saturn entering Leo, there are two possible effects on gold, one would think: a). a squeezing or shrinking in the price of this yellow metal, and b). a shrinking in the available supply - causing the price to rise. Now add Ketu in Leo to the equation, and what do we get? All thoughts and opinions will be welcomed.
