Guest guest
Wintry Weather Blasts Into Houston POSTED: 8:40 am CST November 30, 2006 UPDATED: 5:34 pm CST November 30, 2006 HOUSTON -- An arctic blast blew through Houston Thursday, creating a double-digit temperature drop in a matter of minutes and leaving behind freezing temperatures, KPRC Local 2 reported. " It dropped like a rock. The good news, for the most part, the rain is out of here. We're left with the clouds and very cold temperatures, " KPRC Local 2 chief meteorologist Frank Billingsley said. By 4 p.m., temperatures were in the upper 30s for most of the Houston area. " It was 68 by 6 o'clock this morning. At 9 o'clock this morning, we were at 55, by noon, 35 and at 3 p.m., 39 degrees, " Billingsley said. In addition to being cold, it was windy. " The winds have really been the story today --17, 23, 25 mph. That gives us a wind-chill factor -- the way it feels to your skin, so keep it covered --in the mid to upper 20s, " Billingsley said. " It feels like freezing if you're out there for any length of time, so do be careful.
