Dear C,

The Ascendant of the rectified chart for Thailand is 28:48 Aries instead of

 23:56 Aries.

Since December 2, at 03:42 GMT, Thailand has been in Ju/Ma/Ma. Natal Mars is placed in H2 (gains). Since that date, transit Jupiter

and Mars have been badly placed in H8 and for some time under the affliction of

Mercury. Besides the MEP5 (investments) and MEP11 (gains) are afflicted by

transit Rahu/Ketu axis.

Best wishes,

Jorge

Stock index still plunge after SET

resume trading

The SET resumes stock

trading at noon. The SET index fell further by 13.74 per cent or 100.37 points

to 630.18 at 12.12pm. Bank of Thailand has asked all brokerage companies to

discuss about the issue on 1.30pm.

Key Democrat Party member

Korn Chatikavanij urged the Bank of Thailand to immediately reverse the

recently-introduced measure to intervene the currency, saying that it would

cause the damages to the capital market for years.

Today, Thai share prices plunged by 10 per cent at 11:30 am after the central

bank took the most stringent measures since the 1997 Asian financial crisis to

curb the baht's rise.

to deal with the drop by suspending the trading for 30 minutes at 11:30 hours.

At 11:30, the SET

nosedived to 656.49, the lowest point of the day so far. The Stock Exchange of

Thailand (SET) composite index nosedived 64.62 points or 8.85 per cent to

665.93 in the first minutes of trading and the bluechip SET 50 index fell 53.10

Korn said: " The

immediately reverse this policy, because no investors who will want to spend

Bt100 just to have Bt30 withheld. And if they will get only Bt90 if they want

to remit the money in less than one year. "

Starting from Tuesday, financial

institutions would be required to withhold 30 per cent of foreign currencies

bought or exchanged against the baht, except those related to exports, said BOT

governor Tarisa Watanagase.

Korn said that the damage

caused by the measures could be overwhelming. Besides, there's rule from the

financial institutions that they cannot invest in countries with capital

control. He said the capital market in Chile for instance was damaged by 10

years while Malaysia was damaged by 3 to 4 years.

He said Bank of Thailand

should implement the separate measures to deal with money and financial capital

markets. Speculators are mostly in the bond markets. Bank of Thailand should

separate the measurement in money and capital markets speculators are mostly

bond market.

Dear Jorge,

Thank you for the information. We are generally in agreement on this

time. However, I am tentatively using the 24° Aries rising for three

reasons:

- the natal nodes are closely afflicting the MEPs

- transit L6 Mercury is currently afflicting H8 and H2

- it is the time identified by Thai astrologers, as per the Book of

World Horoscopes.

The issue of exact MEP degree is an empirical matter which

predictions should settle in due course.

Best regards,

OK my dear Cosmologer.

However, until April 1st, 1920, Thailand had Local Time which means GMT+6h42m in

Bangkok, on April 21, 1782. Only after that date it became GMT+7h00m in all the

country. DST=0 always.

Hello list,

Share prices in Thailand have opened 6% higher after the government

partially reversed its decision. The 15% drop yesterday, the biggest

one day decline in over 30 years, therefore looks set to be a short

term development. Regional stock exchanges were also affected

yesterday, with some dropping by 3%. The transits indicate some

improvement with transit Moon entering H9 and L6 Mercury crossing MEP

of H8.

Bt820-billion blunder

MR Pridiyathorn Devakula, finance minister, said the government had

acted in the interests of the private sector, especially exporters

who were suffering from the strong baht. Pridiyathorn quickly halts

capital policy Tuesday night and admits record fall of Thai stock

market was far beyond expectations. Deputy Premier and Finance

Minister Pridiyathorn Devakula yesterday quickly reversed the

government's capital-control policy by exempting the ultra-sensitive

stock market from a controversial reserve requirement and tax. In a

nationally televised announcement, Pridiyathorn admitted foreign

investors had been severely hit by the capital reserve and tax

measures, resulting in the Thai stock market's free fall. Yesterday,

the Stock Exchange of Thailand recorded the single biggest

one-day loss in its history with Bt820 billion in paper wealth lost

as the key SET index plunged by 14.8 per cent. Regional stock markets

also fell in tandem, with Jakarta down 2.9 per cent; Kuala Lumpur

down 2 per cent, and Singapore down 2.2 per cent. Pridiyathorn said

the 30 per cent capital reserve requirement would remain intact on

funds brought into the country for investing in financial

instruments, as well as for borrowings. However, there would be no

such requirement on foreign funds brought into the country for

foreign direct investment and for investing in the stock market,

starting today. He said the stock market should recover in stages and

admitted that the damage in terms of a massive loss of market

capitalisation was far beyond any expectation. The finance minister

said he hoped the negative consequences on the stock market would not

be long-lasting, but Piyasvasti Amranand, the energy minister and a

former asset management executive, warned there could be long-term

negative impacts. Meanwhile, the Thai baht fell 2 per cent to about

Bt36 to the dollar. Until yesterday, the currency had risen by 16 per

cent this year against the dollar.

Earlier, Pridiyathorn said the Bank of Thailand had acted in the

interests of the private sector, especially exporters suffering from

the strong baht, by introducing the capital reserve and tax measures.

The government wanted to take care of the Thai economy over the

interests of foreign speculators, but it seemed to have under-

estimated the huge negative impacts on the stock market. Critics said

the measures imposed by the central bank were probably too harsh and

resulted in the stock market's free-fall. The central bank allowed

foreigners yesterday to keep more baht in the non-resident baht

account in order to provide room for them to keep their baht

liquidity after the anti-speculation move made them shift capital out

of the stock market. Late in the afternoon, the BOT cancelled the

ceiling on outstanding baht liquidity in non-resident baht accounts

per person, set earlier at Bt300 million. The ceiling was set because

the BOT wanted to cut foreigners' baht liquidity. However, the

central bank moved to cancel the ceiling to allow foreigners

to " park " their baht after they got out of the stock market. On

Monday, the BOT announced that Thailand would require a sweeping

30 per cent reserve on foreign capital brought into the country. It

meant that if investors or speculators pull back money within three

or six months they would lose a 10 per cent withholding tax on the

entire amount. But if they took money back after a year, they would

be subject to no tax. In effect, all foreign funds were negatively

affected, including those for FDI and investment in the stock,

property and other markets. The negative impact on the stock market

was huge, as yesterday's crash was the biggest one-day fall in the

bourse's 31-year history.

Dear C,

According with the rectified chart: since December 16, 2006, at 01:46 GMT,

current dasha was Ju/Ma/Ma/Ve. From December 19, at 09:18 GMT, dasha changed to

Ju/Ma/Ma/Su. Today, December 20, at 09:10 GMT, Ju/Ma/Ma/Mo will start.

Natal Venus is placed in H12 (losses). Natal Sun (government), L5 (investments)

is exalted in H1. Natal Moon, L4, is strong in H4. It seems things will improve.

However, Mercury, L6, will be exactly over MEP8 on December 23. Let us see how

it behaves.

Best wishes,

Jorge

Dear Jorge,

Thanks for the additional information. I erected the chart in

sidereal zodiac based on the information in the book. The rising

degree shown in tropical is 14° 11' Taurus. The cited in the text of

the book is 6:54 AM. However, the time shown in the chart is 6:34 AM.

The author, Nicholas Campion, has evidently made an adjustment to

arrive at 14° 11' Taurus degree.

For this date, 21 April 1782, the ayanamsa is given as 20° 49'. Hence

when we substract this from 14° 11'' we obtain 23° 22' Aries.

Using LMT of -7:00 and time of 6:54 AM in Jyotish Tools yields 23°

56'. Using LMT of -6:42 and time of 6:34 AM gives 23° 23'. So, there

is some uncertainty involved about the exact time or degree as far as

what local information regarding this event is suggesting or what

Campion had in mind, but predictions should sort it out in due time.

That said, the events of recent days give some indication the 24° is

important.

Best regards,

C

Dear C,

I have a revised and updated edition of " The Book of World Horoscopes " from

2004. It is unclear as he presents a chart for 6 Apr 1782, at 6:54 LMT, (rising

degree 03º 16' tropical) but speaks of 21 Apr 1782 in the text. Some mistake

must be there...

You may be right. I will look again to the rectification work done on November

4, 2004.

Best wishes,

Jorge

Hi Jorge & Cosmologer There are two contradictory anecdotal histories of this event for the ground marker ceremony, the cornerstone placed at the foundation site's northeast corner of the to-be-erected Bangkok Royal Palace: [1] One tale has it that the marker was ceremonially placed at 54 minutes after sunrise (dawn) on April 21,

1782. [2] The other tale has it that Rama I instructed that the marker be placed at 15 minutes after midnight, 00:15 hrs on April 21,

1782. Take your pick: Tale #1 or Tale #2. Now an added complication: Determining how the time moment of sunrise was measured that day remains an open question. Sunrise surely was earlier

than 06:00 hrs, but how much earlier?. Then there are yet other complications. King Rama I ascended to the throne two weeks earlier, on April 6, 1782, at the moment he personally took a club and bludgeoned to death his predecessor [no assassins need apply]. His ascension should not be confused with his subsequent coronation, which ceremony was held some two months later, in early June

1782. And yet, we are to believe that the birth of the modern Thai nation [actually, the modern Siamese Nation] was actuated by the Bangkok Palace construction's groundbreaking ceremony which also happens to have been

the commemorating event for the birth of the City of Bangkok. Birth of the CITY[?]; Birth of the NATION[?] . . . .Place your bets, ladies and gentlmen; which is it ?. Good Luck on this one. As actor Yul Brenner spoke the lines of King Rama IV in the stage and film Rogers & Hammerstein musical, THE KING AND I, some 50 years ago: quote "Such is a puzzlement" unquote. Yes ... A PUZZLEMENT !!!! cosmologer <cosmologer wrote: Dear Jorge,Thanks for the additional information. I erected the chart in sidereal zodiac based on the information in the book.
