SAMVA USA & What history can't tell the astrologer

Dear List Ron Day raises an interesting question about the true ascendant of the SAMVA USA chart, February 2, 1781 [LMT, Annapolis, Maryland, USA]. So let me clarify ever so briefly for all what the record of the history of this event can & cannot tell the mundane astrologer. The detail of the official record with the State of Maryland gets us as far as, but no further than, the final hour of the afternoon session of the 1780-1781 Legislative Sessions, on Sessions final day, being the first Friday, the 2nd day of February of 1781. Given the officially recorded number of items to be signed by the Governor [ie, "enrolled bills" to be legally executed, where "enrolled" = duly approved by both House & Senate], the execution of the empowering Act-in-question being one among many others, one can confidently estimate

the following to be most highly likely: To wit: Zodiacally, the empowering moment was at a point on the Ascendant in the range of possible degrees, the 15th degree of Cancer and up to and including the 23rd degree of Cancer [or, as rendered by the clock, 16:40 hrs up to 17:15 hours [LMT, Annapolis]. Whether or not that final determination of the true point on the Ascendant is the 21st degree of Cancer, per Cosmologer, or the 20th degree of Cancer, per Ron Day, or yet another degree of Cancer in the indentified range, is a question to be investigated and hence determined by the pure empiricism of rectifying technique. At this stage in the investigations, historians must necessarily remain silent; they can do no more to aid the mundane

astrologer. It is for the astrologers themselves to pick up the task and finish the job. This will make little difference overall but in the interests of completeness you may wish to consider this change.Ron
