Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Thanks for the additional check. It is very interesting. One thought on this historical analysis for future reference. If the recorded event was large (in terms of Richter scale measurement) but took place in a remote area and with little or any real impact on the national affairs or sentiments, it would likely be seen remotely in the chart. However, where the magnitude is large and the impact severe on a given population, the impact should show up clearly in the national chart. So, not all earthquakes would be equal in this sense. For checking a mundane chart, a good rule to follow would be to look at a wide variety of events but each with a clearly defined and major impact on the country. This should give insight on how to interpret the events in terms of the chart and how to make the most accurate predictions. Guest guest
Dear C, Thank you for your kind guidance. This is inline with what I have chosen to post so far (3000 fatalities in this quake and an entire city flattened in the 1811/1812). In Alaska for instance there are lots of high intensity quakes that do not impact the mainland (11 of the 16 largest in the USA). These won't be addressed. Best regards, Vyas Munidas - " cosmologer " <cosmologer <SAMVA > Tuesday, January 16, 2007 2:18 PM Re: Natural Calamities in the USA, 1906 April 18 San Francisco earthquake Dear Vyas, Thanks for the additional check. Guest guest
Dear C. Well said. That is exactly what I call, " learning how to use the chart " . Each chart has its own peculiarities. Using one kind of events for the same chart is highly recommended. I have been doing that with air accidents, for example. Regarding San Francisco earthquake in 1906: SAMVA chart was in Mo/Ju/Ma or Mo/Ju/Ra (2 days difference in dasha). Transit Jupiter is not badly placed nor afflicted, unless we consider that it falls exactly on the seventh house aspect of the arithmetical mean of natal Jupiter plus natal Saturn. Natal Jupiter has the MEP of its house of placement closely afflicted (5 degree orb) by transit Rahu. Transit Rahu/Ketu axis closely afflicts all odd houses, including MEP1. Transit Saturn afflicts transit Venus, L4, and MEPs 8, 10, 2 and 5.  Rectified chart was in Mo/Ve/Ra. Transit Venus is badly placed in H6, in exact square aspect with the arithmetical mean of the natal axis plus the transit axis. Transit Saturn, dispositor of the Moon, is close to this value, and natal Saturn is afflicted by transit Ketu. Transit Jupiter, L12 in D6, is closely aspecting MEP1 (Jupiter is FMP in D4, D5, D6, D11 and D12). Transit retrograde Mercury, L6 in D8, is exactly over MEP5. I am in the process of checking as many events as possible. Guest guest
Dear List members Thanks to Vyas for this thread. Allow me to add a comment This fascinating comparative review of the impact of historical events on the USA charts for July 2, 1776 & February 2, 1781, has already confirmed for me a very important historical consideration. Let the astrological investigations proceed in determining which chart is the true one for America's nation-state. In the meantime, the following considerations are no longer in doubt for me: The true JULY 1776 event date is the SECOND DAY, not the FOURTH DAY of the month & The true 1781 date is the SECOND DAY OF FEBRUARY, not the FIRST DAY OF MARCH, Popular histories remember the date of the published broadside Declaration of Independence, not the true event which by sovereign enactment made the publication possible, two days before. These same popular histories remember the date of the ceremonial 13th State signing of the Articles of Confederation & Perpetual Union in Philadelphia; not the true event which by a sovereign enactment of statutory law made the signing possible, this being the law enacted in Annapolis, Maryland, one month earlier than the signing ceremony. So as we review the event of the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, let's keep in mind the events leading up to the event. Perhaps one of these dates in California's own history can shed light on the event of 1906. TREATY OF GUADALUPE HIDALGO: U.S. ACQUISITION OF AMERICA’s SOUTHWEST A TREATY OF PEACE, FRIENDSHIP, LIMITS, AND SETTLEMENT BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES RESULTING LAND CESSION TO THE UNITED STATES: Arizona, California, New Mexico, and parts of Colorado, Nevada and Utah [1] FEBRUARY 2, 1848: TREATY CONCLUDED & SIGNED AT GUADALUPE HIDALGO; [2] MARCH 10, 1848: RATIFICATION OF FEB 2 TREATY, ADVISED BY THE U.S. SENATE WITH AMENDMENTS, [3] MARCH 16, 1848: TREATY RATIFIED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, [4] MAY 30, 1848: U.S. & MEXICAN RATIFICATIONS EXCHANGED AT QUERETARO [5] JULY 4, 1848: PROCLAIMED BY U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE [6] SEPTEMBER 4, 1849: SAN JOSE CONVENTION BECOMES CALIFORNIA AS “THE STATE” [7] NOVEMBER 16, 1849: THE PEOPLE OF “THE STATE” VOTE ADOPTION OF “THE STATE’s” CONSTITUTION, WHICH INCLUDES RATIFICATION OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION [8] SEPTEMBER 9, 1850: “THE STATE” IS ADMITTED TO THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BY AN ACT SIGNED BY THE POTUS. Status and wealth are there as Jupiter is exactly aspecting H2 (wealth), its own MT, from H8 (easy gains and death). Regarding the leading role, I am not so sure. See how this war in Iraq came without the approval of the UN. A leader leads, motivates, does not behave alone. And in July 2 1776, they were not just separating from the English. They were taking on their shoulders the destiny of a new nation. I think it's agreeable that the USA is the wealthiestnation, the world leader, the country where practically any material dreamcan happen regardless of background etc etc.Propitiation via whatever effective method for countries have been discussed here and some is done, but what about the strengthening? Withoutstrengthening, weak planets cannot show extraordinary results. I imaginethat FB gems/yantras would have to be kept in appropriate governementbuildings and key officials would have to have strong planets or do astralremedies themselves. In this case, the event may be well rectified, but it may not be thedefining moment of the birth of a nation. Compare to a woman who gets a divorce and married again a few years later. The divorce does not define thestart of her second marriage, but it may explicitly define a new chapter inher life.Just my humble two cents Jorge, I hope it's well received. Guest guest
Dear Jorge, Regarding status in the Sc asc, the bad placement of both the significators (Ju and Su) should be first seen through the lens of obsctuctions. The exact impact of Jupiter on its own MTH from 8H blesses and strongly connects status via easy gains primarily through the mundane significators of the 8H. This Ju would also give the inhabitants an unnaturally strong involvement in the occult area. The afflictions and weakness take absolute precedence. Each chart may have its own 'personality' as you have stated in different words, but the principles of SA must applied unilaterally otherwise it would just be confused classic Vedic Astrology. I beg the guidance of our dear Professor if I am wrong. Best regards, Vyas Munidas - " Jorge Angelino " <jorge.angelino <SAMVA > Wednesday, January 17, 2007 3:03 AM Re: Re: Natural Calamities in the USA, 1906 April 18 San Francisco earthquake > My dear Vyas, > > Thanks for your kind words. > > Your ideas are always a precious contribution to this list and are > welcome. > > Status and wealth are there as Jupiter is exactly aspecting H2 (wealth), > its > own MT, from H8 (easy gains and death). Guest guest
Dear Vyas, You are very right. SA is to be applied, and it says: MEASURING CAPACITY OF PLANETS While studying the impact of a planet, depending upon its strength, during the course of its sub-period both the natal and transit positions of the planet under operation are to be studied. The result of a particular house will be influenced by a transiting planet when it is near to its most effective point depending upon its functional nature whether benefic or malefic. A weak planet, too, has the capacity to protect its house if it is well placed, unafflicted, under the beneficial influence of functional benefic planets through close a spect/conjunction or aspects its own mooltrikona house. If we look to Jupiter, its weakness is only due to the fact of being 54% combust (from a FB Sun) and badly placed. H8 is not afflicted and Jupiter is exactly placed over MEP8 , enhancing all the other planets placed there (please note that the Sun and Venus are only weak due to the fact of being badly placed), and exactly aspecting its own MT house. Besides, Jupiter also aspects H4 and H12, exactly. The longevity of the country is also favored by this auspicious placement of Jupiter. This is the great blessing of USA. Best wishes, Jorge On 1/17/07, Vyas Munidas <muni> wrote: Dear Jorge,Regarding status in the Sc asc, the bad placement of both the significators(Ju and Su) should be first seen through the lens of obsctuctions. The exact impact of Jupiter on its own MTH from 8H blesses and strongly connectsstatus via easy gains primarily through the mundane significators of the 8H.This Ju would also give the inhabitants an unnaturally strong involvement in the occult area. The afflictions and weakness take absolute precedence. Each chart may haveits own 'personality' as you have stated in different words, but theprinciples of SA must applied unilaterally otherwise it would just be confused classic Vedic Astrology.I beg the guidance of our dear Professor if I am wrong.Best regards,Vyas Munidas- " Jorge Angelino " < jorge.angelino<SAMVA >Wednesday, January 17, 2007 3:03 AMRe: Re: Natural Calamities in the USA, 1906 April 18 San Francisco earthquake> My dear Vyas,>> Thanks for your kind words.>> Your ideas are always a precious contribution to this list and are> welcome.>> Status and wealth are there as Jupiter is exactly aspecting H2 (wealth), > its> own MT, from H8 (easy gains and death). Guest guest
Dear Jorge, You quoted: " A weak planet, too, has the capacity to protect its house if it is WELL PLACED, unafflicted, under the beneficial influence of functional benefic planets through close a spect/conjunction or aspects its own mooltrikona house " Good placement, is the first key requirement in this paragraph which you have not highlighted. Aspect to its MTH is helpful, but by SA this planet is certainly weak - badly placed and combust 54%. Good results are possible, but with inordinate delay. The LO10 Sun, secondary significator for Status in the Sc asc, is in wide asp to this Ju and to the MEP. It too cannot help because of the bad placement and in this case harms Ju by combustion. Guest guest
Hello dear Vyas, You are right. The principles are to be applied in the same manner in all situations. Both charts under focus have been drawn in the historical background. Those trying to find the aunthentic chart must have open mind and without any attachment to either of the charts. At this stage the reference drawn by dear Mr. Angelino from the Supreme Yoga is very relevant - one should be devoid of attachment. To me the Cancer rising chart appeared to be better on the basis of the natal promise. Wherever transit influences are not giving clearcut verdict the natal chart is to be examined in detail to reach to a conclusion. So, better confidence will ultimately be attained with passage of time and with experience. Best wishes, - " Vyas Munidas " <muni> <SAMVA > Thursday, January 18, 2007 2:14 AM Re: Re: Natural Calamities in the USA, 1906 April 18 San Francisco earthquake > Dear Jorge, > > Regarding status in the Sc asc, the bad placement of both the > significators > (Ju and Su) should be first seen through the lens of obsctuctions. Guest guest
Dearest Professor, Thank you for your kind input. I fully agree on the points of no attachment to either chart. I have stated the same to Cosmologer and will reject the Cn chart should the predictions not come to pass. We'll just have to patiently wait. It's already in motion per our discussion of further military involvement. May I add, when I saw this in the chart and enquired from you about such possibility, I hadn't been looking at any news in weeks - this is to the credit to a possible accurate chart and not my own. My points of contention mainly concerns the application of SA principles regardless of which chart it is. My knowledge of SA and experience are by no means expert like Cosmologer or Jorge, but I focus on the core principles. By your kind guidance, patience and help, some progress is happening. Thank you. Best regards, Vyas Munidas - <siha <SAMVA > Wednesday, January 17, 2007 7:40 PM Re: Re: Natural Calamities in the USA, 1906 April 18 San Francisco earthquake > > Hello dear Vyas, > > You are right.
