Woman Killed While Riding On Snowmobile

BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. -- A 61-year-old woman was killed while riding on a snowmobile Tuesday night in Butler County, state police said. It happened in front of Moniteau High School on West Sunbury Road in Cherry Township at about 8:30 p.m. Police said the woman, Sandra Herold, of Prospect, was a passenger on the back of the snowmobile.

 

A man in his 50s was driving the vehicle, police said. Herold's head struck a guy wire for a utility pole when the snowmobile operator drove between the wire and the pole, police said. Herold was pronounced dead at the scene.
