Seven killed in early morning house fire

BARDSTOWN, Kentucky (AP) -- Fire swept through a one-story brick house in central Kentucky early Tuesday, killing seven people, a county coroner said.

Six of the victims were found dead inside the home, and the seventh was pronounced dead at a hospital, Nelson County Deputy Coroner Sonny Greenwell said.

It wasn't immediately clear what started the fire. The blaze broke out shortly before 3 a.m. in the home in Bardstown, about 40 miles southeast of Louisville. Greenwell said autopsies were planned on the victims.
