Guest guest
Dear list members, The standard view of SA is that retrograde planets have just the same impact as if they were in forward motion. Of course, if the retrograde planet is slow moving, it would have an impact on a given degree longer than it would otherwise if it were traveling at normal speed. Forwarded is a reply by on Satva101 with an additional insight concerning retrograde planets. I think it is especially insightful concerning the idea that such planets have an influence in houses other than those which they normally aspect. There are some people who believe that retrograde planets give their impact from the previous house, as well. They will consider Saturn's impact from the sign Gemini. Some people go further and apply this rule to Rahu and Ketu, as well. This way all the time the impact of Rahu and Ketu would be applicable in the 12 houses. This is just absurd. When one examine past events on the basis of the said principle of retrograde planets creating an impact in the previous sign, one would consider the impact of Jupiter, Saturn and Mars in eight house and that of Rahu and Ketu in all the 12 houses.
