Six killed as Swedish buses crash

Two buses have crashed on an icy road in central Sweden, killing six people and seriously injuring nine.

The crash happened near Uppsala, about 70km (44 miles) north of Stockholm, during early-morning commuter traffic. About 31 other passengers were injured in the crash, rescue spokesman Leif Hammarstedt told AP news agency. The cause of the crash was not immediately clear, but roads in the area were slippery following heavy snowfall, Mr Hammarstedt said.

My dear Jorge,

Thank you for the alert on this event.

Could you please share the chart you have erected for Sweden? I am

finding that JT does not at present allow us to create charts before

1600 and this charts is for 1523.

My dear Jorge,

Thank you for the chart, which is quite interesting for being so old.

Sweden has been the most influential of the Scandinavian countries for

many centuries, with a strong democratic tradition and a generous

welfare state. Swedes are quite proud of the heritage and cultivate

their status and traditions assidiously. In recent decades, the

welfare system has come under pressure and influential Swedish brand

names like Volvo and Saab have been sold to foreign owners. The

influence of Sweden in the EU has been reduced as the population

rejected in a referendum to adopt the common currency of the Euro in

September 2003. This has made Sweden, along with UK and Denmark, as

having a special status, which also excludes them from some of the

inner workings of the EU. The Swedish politicians apparently don´t

like that. Sweden has a figurehead king and the executive power now

resides with a democratically elected Prime Minister. The recent Prime

Ministers have been lackluster. Two notable leaders have been

assassinated in recent years. Prime Minister, Olof Palme, was

assassinated on 1 March 1986 and Foreign Minister Anne Lindh was

assassinated on 11 September 2003. She was considered the likely

replacement for Goran Persson, who was Prime Minister at that time,

but stepped down recently.

The Virgo rising chart has L1 Mercury in H9, which would give a high

minded country. L11 Moon on H7 would give income from foreign sources

and foreign involvement. The place of L12 Sun on H10 MEP is

interesting. It would be expected to give problems for the exectutive

government, foreign trade and communal harmony when transit afflicted.

On the other hand, the good and unafflicted placement of Sun in H10

could be good for the leader of the country.

I pause when I see the placement of L2 Venus in the H8 of obstacles

and endings under the aspect of Ketu in H12. With Ve/Ve period

operating at the present time, while also transit Ketu is stationary

aspecting the natal Venus from H12, there should be plenty of problems

in the coming weeks for relations with close neighbors, communal

harmony, status and wealth. The weather should also be quite extreme

at this time. Transit Ketu also afflicts its natal placement. At the

same time, transit Rahu in H6 is exactly afflicting L6 Saturn and its

natal placement. The chart suggests major problems involving the

wealth of the country, the financial system and health issues at the

present time.

We can follow events in Sweden in coming weeks with an eye toward

these significant afflictions.

Best wishes,

Thor
