Guest guest
The San Francisco Bay Area experienced a 4.2 magnitude earthquake Thursday evening at 8:40 PM PST. Normally a 4.2 quake would not garner much attention but many in the area said it was the strongest quake they had felt since the Loma Prieta quake of 1989. I certainly felt it as I live about 10 miles from the epicenter. It started as any other quakes around here with some rolling but instead of going away got stronger with a roaring sound and a huge bang. I dropped to floor for safety. Note that this precedes the eclipse this weekend so there might be an even stronger quake in the area unless that one relieved the stress caused by the extreme pull on the crust. There are almost always major earthquakes around eclipses. Guest guest
Dear Brian, Thanks for this information. As mentioned in a message on SAMVA on Feb 3: " In the SAMVA USA chart there are a number of transit contacts that give rise to concern about earthquakes, although the prime such signature is not activated at this time. " In particular, the aspect of transit Ketu in H2 to natal L4 Venus in H6. Moreover, transit Rahu in H8 stationary aspecting H4 MEP. This is making the H4 indications vulnerable. Next week, transit L4 Venus comes under the aspect of L6 Jupiter. At that time, the indications come under even more strain. Let us see what happens then. Guest guest
Hello dear Brian, Next week the Sun would be conjunct with Rahu and is likely to cause problems for everyone - one way or the other. In the weekly horoscope on my website I have already taken into account this transit influence which is likely to persist intensely for three days between 6th to 8th March, 2007. In the California chart Venus, the current sub period lord, is placed in the sixth house. Best wishes. - " Brian Conrad " <jjyotish <SAMVA > Saturday, March 03, 2007 3:06 AM California Earthquake | The San Francisco Bay Area experienced a 4.2 magnitude earthquake | Thursday evening at 8:40 PM PST. Guest guest
Dear Brian and List, In the California rectified chart, the dasha is SA/MO/RA/KE/KE. The transit Moon was exactly conjunct with transit retrograde Saturn, and both were afflicted by the natal RA/KE axis. The transit/natal nodes are in the same longitudes, and the natal axis was in retrograde motion. Guest guest
Dear David, I am using the equivalent rectified time for GMT=0 Hrs, as it enables us to have a greater detail. Using just degrees and minutes for a longitude that has degrees/minutes/seconds is less precise.
