Bush OKs 4,400 extra troops for Iraq

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (CNN) -- President Bush has approved a request to deploy 4,400 additional U.S. troops to Iraq, officials said.

The president signed the request from Gen. David Petraeus, new coalition commander in Iraq, while on Air Force One between Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Montevideo, said National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe.

In January, Bush said he planned to send 21,500 additional troops to Iraq in an effort to stabilize the country, particularly Baghdad and Anbar province. The 4,400 troops are in addition to that number.

Johndroe said the bulk of the troops would be dedicated to detainee operations, as the number of people detained is expected to increase under the new Baghdad security plan. The others, he said, would be for combat support troops.

 

The increase was expected. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Wednesday that nearly 5,000 additional troops would be sent.

Bush has also sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi revising the $100 billion request for funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, reallocating $3.2 billion for the extra troops.

The overall $100 billion request has not changed, according to the Office of Management and Budget. The reallocation would come from items deemed " less timely or lower priorities than those in the current request, " the OMB said.

predicted on the basis of the SAMVA USA chart. The unique contribution

of Jorge is to base the analysis on a chart that

does not think has the natal promise consistent with the USA. This is

no surprise as the chart was not rectified based on SA, but on some

secret multi dasa-bukhti system of rectification. Moreover, Jorge does

not base the analysis of this chart on SA, but some non-SA elements.

number of occasions, the best place for such non-SA discussion is on

any non-SA list. Sally, you and Jorge could even found such a list. It

is likely that some astrologers here would join you on such a list.

Dear friends,

 

First let me thank Jorge for being understanding. It is a great

tribute to him to that he takes suggestions with the same good will

and openness in which they are made.

 

As for the rectifications, it is fine that Jorge puts them aside for

now. In my experience, to rectify a mundane chart for a country takes

a lot of time. He has made a heroic effort to systematically rectify a

chart for every country on the planet, close to 200 charts. I think

this impressive effort - unheard of in my experience - will be helpful

to SA mundane astrologers going forward, just like the effort of

Nicholas Champion to compile the historical information about birth

charts of nations all over the planet, as presented in his book: The

Book of World Horoscopes. In my view, it is likely that more

analytical effort is needed for each offering by our dear Jorge,

including to further evaluate the historical basis of each chart. For

instance, in the case of Denmark, we have only historical information

concerning constitutions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. Neither

chart seems to be able to explain clearly the great problems with the

uprising of young anarchists in the city of Copenhagen in recent days.

 

As for going forward, it is my belief that a group of international

mundane astrologers, using SA, is required to work together for the

realisation of authentic mundane charts for all the countries in the

world. I placed my hopes squarely on SA when I founded SAMVA in

November 2000. My sincere hope was that such a group of esteemed

astrologers would form in order to benefit from SA. I thought more

would recognise the genius of SA. However, there are many self-styled

astrologers who take pride in that fact and they view their

intellectual freedom so important that they are loath to adhere

to someone elses system. It is almost as they think it demeans their

original contribution. So far only a limited number of mundane

astrologers has come forward over this time to apply mundane SA

astrology based on its marvelous contribution towards predictive

accuracy. It is true, as all mundane astrologers we have had

significant problems in identifying the authentic mundane

charts for many countries, not least due to spotty historical

information. Our dear John TWB has brought this out clearly during

the intensive study of the historical founding of the USA.

Fortunately, this shortage of authentic charts is being met, one chart

at a time based on an intensive study and tests on the basis of

scientific predictions. Going forward mundane SA astrology will

undoubtedly make a name for itself, as SA has in the horoscopy of

individuals, based on a steady stream of accurate predictions based on

authentic mundane charts.

 

I wish our dear Jorge best of luck with his efforts, either here on

SAMVA or elsewhere!

 

Finally, I renew my call for interested SA astrologers on SAMVA to

step up to the plate and try their hand at applying SA in the mundane

sphere to a national chart of their interest.

Clashes erupt at Danish eviction

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Police were anticipating that trouble might spread across the capitalDozens of people have been arrested in Denmark after violence erupted amid a police operation to evict squatters.

Protesters threw cobblestones at police and set makeshift barricades on fire outside the Copenhagen building, which has become a cause celebre in Denmark. Police in riot gear blocked the streets while an anti-terror squad dropped from helicopters onto the building's roof. Squatters have occupied the building since 1982, but it was sold by the local council in 2000. The buyers, a Christian group, have a court order to have the squatters evicted - but they have vowed not to leave. The building has been used as a base for left-wing activists for more than two decades. They say the council had no right to sell the building while it was still in use. A protest against the eviction plans in December turned violent, and more than 300 people were arrested. Reinforcements Shop owners in the Noerrebro district began boarding up windows after the operation began at about 0700 (0600 GMT).

 

 

 

 

Anti-terror police gained access to the building from the air

Youths gathered behind protest lines, yelling at police and throwing missiles. " We have arrested 30 people who were in the building and some 40 others in surrounding streets, " police spokesman Flemming Steen Munch told the AFP news agency. He said the operation had gone to plan but that police had called in reinforcements, fearing that clashes could spread.
