Guest guest
Dear List, Here is a list of key facts about China to aid in our search for the natal: Strong and aggressive policies Above average incidents of natural disasters Manufacturing based economy Largest account surplus in the world, 180 Bln Largest resources for hydro power generation Largest population in the world Over one trillion USD in FX reserves (2H) Average person lives 72 years (around 1950 it was 32 years) Officially atheist (est 59%) Average annual 9.4% GDP for the last 25 years (however, with such a large population, GDP/person is only 1/5th of the US) World's second largest R & D budget Secretive nation Under current examination is September 21, 1949 13:00, Peking. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, The CIA World Factbook contains many interesting facts about China https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/ch.html#Econ I was surprised to see that half of the trade of China is with countries it has had somewhat tense relations with including: Japan 15.2%, South Korea 11.6%, Taiwan 11.2%, USA 7.4% and Germany 4.6%. The trade of China has expanded at very rapid rates in past decades. The 10th house is significator for international trade. The Purchasing Power adjusted income level is $7,600 per capita, about one-fifth to one seventh of the income levels of developed countries. Still it is a much higher income than only one decade ago. I thought China was relatively poor agrarian society with only manufacturing based around the big cities. This appears to be a wrong impression. While agriculture is a larger share than in most developed countries, it is 11% of the output. Moreover, services and industry now account for almost 90% of the output. The strength of the currency may also explain some of the rise in income in past decades as measured in dollars. In other words, the country is much better off than only a few decades ago and this increase in income should be clear in the chart. The 11th house is main indicator of income. Guest guest
Dear Thor, Yes, China is a wealthy nation by any measure; most have the impression that you had. It's noteable that the gap between the rich and poor is very astounding. The focus from the leadership is to steer the nation towards innovation rather than just manufacturing; hence the second largest R & D budget. Re 11H, has pointed out Mercury's role in this regard. This chart matches the nation to a good extent on the initial look. And, as we've discussed privately about the natural disasters, it shows pretty clear. At this juncture, the apt thing is to 1) bring out the points in the natal chart that match with the traits of the country, 2) look at significant events in more detail and present them for the list's consideration. If it makes it past these hurdles, then it's prediction and monitoring time. I'll get on it! Guest guest
Dear Vyas, That sounds like a very good and interesting plan. Finding an authentic chart for the most populous nation on the planet would be a major contribution to the advancement of SA mundane astrology.
