Dear friends,I was just watching an inspirational film "Warn Springs" about the struggle of US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt with polio, which paralyzed him and almost shut down his career. He fought back and while he never overcame the affliction, it emboldened and ennobled his spirit, such that he became one of the best loved Presidents of the USA. Another president who battled an almost debilitating back ailment due to a war injury was John F Kennedy. He struggled past this ailment and became one of the most admired President, for his idealism on behalf of humanity. One more President had to contend with defeat after defeat in politics before finally gaining the high political office of President. He surmounted the obstacles to become the most revered of Presidents. His name was Abraham Lincoln. This made me think what it is in the SAMVA USA chart that brings out such Presidents every once in a while. We know the Sun is strong and influential in

Capricorn in the 7th house. The Sun is afflicted by the lord of obstacles, Saturn in the fifth house. So, obstacles seem to be a part of what defines the US Presidency. Also of interest is the affiction of the lord of the ascendant, Moon, in the eleventh house of hopes and plans by the sixth lord of health, Jupiter. This combination is further aroused by the 10th lord Mars in the fifth house. Together, these planets give the country its idealism, courage and strength. While the country, like all countries, is by no means perfect and many Presidents have perhaps only been lackluster (at that high level of accomplishment), there is some element of the national character that resounds with the human spirit and is noteworthy. It is the spark of hope that motivates our ability to overcome obstacles with courage, faith and hard work.Best wishes,Thor
