Guest guest
Dear friends,Share prices jumped this morning by around 70 points but then slowly the gains were eroded and now the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down over 20 points at around 12280. The incoming news about the economy continue to be mixed. This morning new data showed that growth of the US economy in the 4th quarter of 2006 was slightly more robust than exepcted. This prompted the opening rally. However, it is possible the markets then inferred that this suggested interest rates would stay higher longer, prompting a reversal of the rise. Then other news continued to take the shine off of the market, such as growing worries about tension in the Persian Gulf and rising oil prices. As a result share prices are struggling today. There are many transit to natal, natal to transit and transit to transit afflictions in the SAMVA USA chart at the present time, and they are likely to be taking their toll. As I mentioned earlier, the move of transit L10 Mars into H8 is bad news for transit L4 Venus in H10, where it is afflicted by natal nodal axis and increasingly transit stationary Ketu in H2. Transit L3 Mercury is also now conjunct transit stationary Rahu in H8. In view of these more recent developments, I would not be surprised if additional negative news about conditions in e.g. the housing market were to emerge around the weekend, which would further dampen stocks.Best wishes,Thor No need to miss a message. Guest guest
Dear Thor, The DJIA closed about 50 points higher than open - the last two hours of trading saw almost a 100 point rise from the low of the day. The low of the week (27th) was not exceeded and it's more or less range play. Ve and Me close to the MEPs of transiting houses are helpful for this buoyancy. Tomorrow both planets are closer to the MEPs, but also closer to the axis, so mixed results are expected. No point in trying to figure out whether up or down at this stage. On the data released at 8:30, the headline was good, but closer examination showed it was mixed. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, Stocks ended up yesterday, after struggling for most part of the day. Indeed, you have a point that it is difficult to predict daily movements of the share prices. However, the main point of my message was to signal that we should observe how the indications of L4 Venus in the SAMVA USA chart fare now that it is under multiple affliction today and after the weekend. - transit stationary Ketu at 22° Leo in H2 MEP afflicts natal L4 Venus at 23° 52' Sagittarius in H6 - transit stationary Ketu at 22° Leo in H2 MEP afflicts transit L4 Venus at 21° 00' Aries in H10 (with transit L10 Mars in infancy in H8) - transit stationary Saturn at 24° 33' Cancer in H1 MEP afflicts transit L4 Venus in 21°-26° Aries H10 MEP - transit stationary Rahu at 22° Aquarius in H8 MEP afflicts H4 MEP This would be a serious test of the indications of the 4th house and Venus. Guest guest
Dear friends, In view of the numerous afflictions to Venus in the SAMVA USA chart, it is not surprising that the US experienced 65 tornados yesterday. After all Venus is a major indicator for weather. Best wishes, Thor March 29, 2007 Deadly Tornados in Colorado and Oklahoma By CHRISTINE HAUSER Four people died in Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma after tornados swept through their areas last night as part of a storm system that also brought violent weather to at least three other states, officials said today. More damage from the storms could be uncovered throughout today as officials assess the extent of destruction left by the 65 tornados that rolled through six states on Wednesday. Two people died when a tornado swirled through their rural Oklahoma neighborhood near Elmwood, said a state emergency official, Dixie Parker, in a telephone interview today. Their names were later released by her office as Vance and Barbra Woodbury, a husband and wife. Authorities had fanned out in the Beaver County area on Wednesday, warning residents to take shelter from the tornado and to offer assistance, she said. When they tried to find the couple there was no sign of them at their one-story wood house on a rural road. " There was no house left, it was demolished, and we found them in the field, " she said. " One was still alive, the husband. He passed away just before the ambulance got there. " The tornados also swept through Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska and Texas, said Patrick Slattery of the National Weather Service. Some areas were also pummeled by large hailstones and heavy snowfall. " It was a big storm, a big system, " he said. " The majority of these were almost in a straight north-south line along the Kansas-Nebraska border. " " The effects stretched from Colorado and Wyoming, with blowing snow, " he said. An area in Carbon County, Wyoming got 19 inches of snow. Hail measuring about an inch and three-quarter inches in diameter, about the size of a golf ball, fell in the Nebraska Panhandle, he said. There were no active tornado warnings in effect as of this morning, said Mr. Slattery, but there were a number of severe thunder storm warnings today in Colorado and Wyoming. Mrs. Parker, the official in Oklahoma, said that emergency teams were sent out today to assess the extent of structural damage but so far there were no reports of anyone missing in the county, which is about 1,800 square miles with a population of 1,500. The house of the couple, whose ages were not available, was in a relatively isolated area. The tornado appeared to have cut a powerful path through their house, as the neighboring properties closest to them had only uprooted trees, Mrs. Parker said. In Holly, Colorado, a small town of about 1,500 people, a woman and two children were found dangling in a tree last night, said the county coroner, Joe Giardone, by telephone. The 28-year old woman, Rosemary Rosales, later died of her injuries. The children and at least nine other people were injured, he said, seven of them so seriously that they needed to be evacuated to area trauma centers. Houses were damaged and power lines dangled from their posts. In the Texas panhandle outside of Amarillo, a 53-year old oilfield worker from Oklahoma, Monte Ford, was killed when the tornado hit his trailer, said Tela Mange, of the Department of Public Safety. Officials were assessing damage in the southwestern region of Nebraska this morning, but early reports showed Dundy and Perkins counties each had four houses either heavily damaged or destroyed. There were no reports of casualties because residents had evacuated the areas, which are hilly in some parts but also include flat farmland and cattle grazing fields. " One thing we can say is they are areas of low population, " said Cindy Newsham, the response and recovery division manager of the state Emergency Management Agency. " We can have tornados that go through a lot of area but don't hit anything. " Tornados are normal in the state starting about this time of year through May, she said. At least three people were injured in the Texas Panhandle as storms that brought winds up to 70 miles per hour, hail and rain, spawned several tornadoes, The Associated Press reported. Guest guest
Dear Thor, My main point is that mixed results are expected On the health of the economy, today the US governement reported at 8:30 that consumers spent more (bolstered by 0.6% in personal income) in Feb. Consumer spending represents two-thirds of the economy. This was completely unexpected by all analysts and is the best number since last Dec. In a separate report, construction spending in Feb rose (0.3%) to the highest levels in 11 months. Now residential construction took a hit (11 consecutive decline), and this offsetting rise in the final number is attributed to local gov't projects, shopping centers and hotels (0.6%, an all-time high). Prior, this construction spending has been flat or down. Interesting enough, Ve is on the MEP of H10 ruling immovable property, aspecting its own MTH. Considering the significations of the planets and houses involved, I imagine that you can clearly see where I am going with this, so no more needs to be said. Mixed results. Guest guest
Dear friends, The incoming economic news continues to undermine expectations of an early rate cut. The Dow is up 20 points, at around 12370, after having risen more in early trading. Guest guest
My dear Vyas, I appreciate your view. However, I don´t see much if any favourable factors concerning Venus, only strongly negative influences, not least due to its natal condition, with L4 Venus placed in H6, H4 MEP afflicted by the nodal axis and (over 5°) affliction of Venus by Rahu in H10. Hence, I am of the view that its indications will be affected negatively in coming days by the many transit afflictions operating as earlier noted w.r.t. to L4 Venus and H4 MEP in the SAMVA USA chart. In short, I expect mostly negative results for 4th house indications and those of Venus this Spring, and especially at this time and next week. Guest guest
PS the subject line " Stocks are struggling today " and my related discussion of the share prices has perhaps created slight confusion. I am thinking that the bad news concerning H4 matters and those of Venus, will have on balance a negative impact on the stock market - which normally tends to rise. The interplay of other aspects, is adding to the pressure. In other words, the stock market should decline under the weight of pervaisive bad news regarding the fundamental housing sector in the US economy and related financial stability concerns, as well as communal harmony. The other aspects then produce additional to pressures on wealth, the government of President Bush and setbacks in military matters, etc. SAMVA , " cosmologer " <cosmologer wrote: > > My dear Vyas, > > I appreciate your view. > > However, I don´t see much if any favourable factors concerning Venus, > only strongly negative influences, not least due to its natal > condition, with L4 Venus placed in H6, H4 MEP afflicted by the nodal > axis and (over 5°) affliction of Venus by Rahu in H10. Guest guest
Dear Thor, If the intraday news is to be discussed, both the positive and negatgive aspects must be accounted for. To discuss the stock market's range without noting that important context does not illustrate 4H indications well. So the measuring stick in this case is faulty with the given transits. (We must also consider that the SM also has a natal chart). In this time, it's better to focus on hard hitting economic, local and geo-political occurences, and weather outcomes. If the SM is to be covered, I recommend that it be done from a broader time frame. The movement of any individual day will not yield proper interpretation as we have seen yesterday (and today). Certainly the 4H and significantions of Ve are challenged and will continue to be. However, the close aspect to the MEP by Ve in transit was helpful to the data as seen. What comes out, is mixed results. Construction spending bolstered by Gov't and hotel projects (very Mars-Aries-10H and Ve-Libra-4H), residential spending in the pits (na Ve afflicted, tr Ve close under Ke). Bottom line, MIXED. I don't want to leave you with the impression that I am expecting good things overall - I was responding to news in the shorter time frame that you have presented. My presentation re Ve and Me approaching the house MEPs show the positive events occuring within the overall negative. So to be on the same page next time, let's make clear and focus on the time frame being discussed. Just now, Washington is putting some trade sanctions on China. This has caused a sell off on the DJIA and USD. Just a few hours ago, both were moving positively. Best regards, Vyas Munidas - " cosmologer " <cosmologer <SAMVA > Friday, March 30, 2007 11:13 AM Re: Stocks are struggling today My dear Vyas, I appreciate your view. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, I was not so much discussing the intra day trade as the trend between days and more accurately over some weeks. Perhaps as I am commenting daily, it gives the impression of focus on intra day trade. To be clear, I am still waiting for a watershed event and accompanying downdraft in stocks. The negative impact on trade is due to stationary transit impact of Ketu in H2 MEP on H10 MEP, as well as the presence of natal Rahu in H10 MEP. The presence of L4 Venus in H10 MEP may bring out some underlying sense of righteousness of the US. However, as Venus is aspected by Ketu and L8 Saturn and with L10 Mars in H8, plenty of obstacles are being realised. Indeed, the US may expect tit-for-tat and this the market will not like at all! Guest guest
Dear Thor, Thanks for the clarification and insights on the trade decision. Certainly it has to be done. Sooner or later the wave machine that China has been riding, will break down. It will take a few months to be effective and the best policy is for China to not respond negatively and adopt frutive policies for the greater good of the planet. The US economy is 1/6th that of the world's, so any problem there will have a domino effect. Also out is a Debka story reporting that US investors have been advised (by the US) to pull out of Bahrain. This Iran situation may come to a head sooner than later. Guest guest
Dear friends, In line with the harsh triple-transit situation of L4 Venus in the SAMVA USA chart - and as predicted - there is more bad news coming out about the housing sector in the USA. Another story shows more indications of a sluggish economy. The reaction of the stock market has been moderately negative in early trading. Best wishes, Thor 1. Guest guest
PS one more story with bad news from the housing sector. New Century Files for Bankruptcy as Mortgages Default (Update1) By Bradley Keoun and Christopher Scinta April 2 (Bloomberg) -- New Century Financial Corp. became the biggest subprime mortgage company to go bankrupt in the past year after the lender, which specialized in loans to people with poor credit records, was overwhelmed by customer defaults. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from its creditors today in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware. The largest creditors included Wall Street firms that financed New Century's lending operations, including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Credit Suisse Group. No amounts were listed in the filing. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news? pid=20601087 & sid=aXHDSbOcAChc & refer=home SAMVA , " cosmologer " <cosmologer wrote: > > Dear friends, > > In line with the harsh triple-transit situation of L4 Venus in the > SAMVA USA chart - and as predicted - there is more bad news coming > out about the housing sector in the USA. Guest guest
Dear Thor, Yesterday the DJIA closed higher. Today ithas just broken the high seen 2 weeks ago, +200 pts from the open. The Sun aspects Virgo's MEP, MTH of Me, Ra-Me and Sa-Ve separated. As both Ve and Me will be weak by age at the end of this week, it is likely that further gains will be tempered. Guest guest
Dear Vyas, You are right, the going in the stock market has been mixed in the past few days. No event has transpired yet to cause the market to decline further. Interestingly, the talk in the market very recently has become quite " bullish " which highlights how fickle the market is. The thing the markets seized upon was a slight reduction in the oil price and some data showing an improvement in a part of the housing market. Some analysts have been saying Greenspan is wrong to think there is a 33% likelihood of recession. Nevertheless, the analysts are also are expecting interest rates to come down. Others suggest the market is fundamentally misreading the Fed and its anti-inflation determination. If those analysts are correct, the rate expectations would not be helpful to the stock market going forward. In other words, there is a lot of difference of opinion about where the economy is headed and what the Fed will do, which suggests the market will continue in the present see-saw mode, even rising, until a more decisive development occurs. Guest guest
Dear list members, The economic news for the USA today is negative and the stock market continues to tread water, with share prices hovering around the same level as it closed yesterday. Best wishes, Thor U.S. Economy: Services Growth Slows, Factory Orders Disappoint By Shobhana Chandra April 4 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. service industries grew at the slowest pace in almost four years in March, providing less of a cushion for an economy buffeted by manufacturing and housing downturns. The Institute for Supply Management's index of non- manufacturing businesses including banks, builders and retailers slid to 52.4, lower than economists anticipated. Orders placed with American factories rose 1 percent in February, the Commerce Department said in Washington, also less than analysts predicted. Services, which account for 90 percent of the economy and have propped up growth for the past year, are now being hurt by rising fuel costs and a tapering off in sales. Bonds rallied and the dollar retreated after the numbers. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news? pid=20601087 & sid=aiTGJ39.rn0s & refer=home SAMVA , " cosmologer " <cosmologer wrote: > > Dear Vyas, > > You are right, the going in the stock market has been mixed in the > past few days.
