Guest guest
Dear friends, On Wikipedia, there is an entry about : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V.K._Choudhry and another one about the Systems' Approach: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems%27_Approach_for_Interpreting_Horoscopes The entries are for the dissemination of these ideas to the general public. There are many articles of a similar nature on Wikipedia. However, as many people have strong feeling against astrology, such articles can be nominated for deletion. Recently, some person has nominated the entry on SA for deletion. There is now a debate about the merit of the proposal to delete or keep. Please find the debate here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Systems%27_Approach_for_Interpreting_Horoscopes_%282nd_nomination%29 If list members are of the view that such an article is helpful, please feel free to make an entry on this page indicating your view to keep and the reasons for doing so. It is best to first create a Wikipedia identity (Id). It comes with a password so that only you have access to it. The system then keeps a track of all the contributions to Wikipeda. Importantly, the Id serves to keep your IP number confidential as well as the personal identity (if that is desired). With the new Id, go to "Edit this page" and type in the following line: ''''Keep'''. (reason for keeping the article). ~~~~ Making sure you enter your own reason for supporting the article be kept. The four tildas ensure that your Id and time of entry are shown. Finally, after checking the changes in "Show preview" and having become satisfied with them, you may "Save" the changes. Your entry - the vote and rationale - have then become registered. Best wishes, Thor Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell? Check out new cars at Autos. I would have thought there were more of you who wouldbe willing to give a little support to this knowledge. So far the claim of those wanting to delete the article are that the information 1. lacks a credible secondary source2. has a non-neutral point of view3. has not been updated for over 1 yearIn item 1, they are insisting on some references, like published journals, are cited. In the field of astrology this is difficult. The honors bestowed on ProfessorChoudhry have been mentioned, but those against, suggesteven these need to be verifiable. Typically, they cite Googlehits for validation, which shows how superficial these objections are.In item 2, they are insisting that the knowledge be describedwithout taking sides, for or against. This is also difficultto do, but not impossible. For item 3, the article has now been updated, with insights and sun like planets.Suggestions on how to change the article to meet the demandsor to argue for it to be kept would be helpful. Guest guest
Dear ,Thanks for reminding of the best perspective. Indeed, the effort to obstruct involves only a few persons. Importantly, the article is not for them but others who may benefit from the information. The article is despite these obstructing. As for the procedure, these issues are usually settled on the basis of a number of votes and a consensus interpreted on the basis of the most compelling suggestions for re-editing an article so that it satisfies most participants in the debate. If the matter is settled to keep an article, the information usually remains in place for some time, although people can edit it continuously. If the information becomes deleted, however, it becomes harder to re-introduce again. That is why it is best to secure it in the first place. This procedure only takes some days, which one can follow with limited time spent. When the matter is decided, the attention and energy can be moved elsewhere.Best wishes,Thorsiha wrote: Hello my dear Thor, There are always persons who would oppose to the views. Guest guest
Hello Iver, No need to put anything on the Wikipedia. Let them take their on decision. SA exists at its own merit whereas Wikipedia exists on the work of others. Wikipedia acts like a pole on which the sources of light like the article on SA under discussion can be installed. The light is light and it does not require any other source to confirm that it is light. It is true to the knowledge of astrology and those who study/use this knowledge know its utility. Best wishes. - del iver SAMVA Sunday, May 06, 2007 6:33 PM Re: Re: SA on Wikipedia its disappointing but I don't know what to put on there. it does say that voting doesn't matter its more a policy/principle issue i definitely like SA. as has been stated b4, its "conceptual framework" is far superior to any version of astrology available today ! ji has done us all a great favor and we are all very much indebted to him. thankyou Professor ! ciao iver PS: any ideas what to put on that Wikipedia site ?Khin Maung Soe <kmsoe2001 wrote: Dear listed members,Because of System's Approach, I became a learner of astrology. Guest guest
dear professor choudhry.... i agree with your sentiments... SA will stand on its own. for what it's worth... i tried to post a "keep" article the other day, but it was very confusing as to what to do, and when i finally finished my post, it was not published for some technical reason. moreover, it appears the discussion is not about voting, but rather they seem to be asking for "Sources of references that appear in third-party publications". if we have any, we could submit them... if not, that's okay, too. best wishes, david hawthorne - siha SAMVA Sunday, May 06, 2007 1:29 PM Re: Re: SA on Wikipedia Hello Iver, No need to put anything on the Wikipedia. Guest guest
Dear Professor Choudry, Truly great wisdom. Such a statement dispels for me any " vanity " or " point of view " attributed to SA. Prophetic endeavors will always be held skeptically in the West, besides being humbling for those making the effort. For me, I'm grateful just be the learning lurker. all the best, tom --- siha wrote: > > Hello Iver, > > No need to put anything on the Wikipedia.
