Planetary Transits for August 23 – August 29

Note: The full Moon and total lunar eclipse is in Aquarius, on August 28. It is the first central total eclipse since 2000. Expect a large variation in shadow brightness; the southern half of the totally eclipsed Moon will appear considerably brighter than the northern half. The penumbral eclipse begins 02:53 a.m., the total eclipse begins 04:52 a.m., and the greatest eclipse is at 5:37 a.m. The total eclipse ends at 6:22 a.m., and the penumbral eclipse ends at 8:31 a.m. (CDT). All of North America will witness some portion of the eclipse. Rest, fasting and meditation are recommended.

Sun transits its own mooltrikona sign, Leo, from 05:44 to 12:29°. Sun is closely conjunct Saturn until August 27. Cancer, Virgo, and Pisces rising signs should be careful and patient.

Moon transits Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and into Pisces.

Mercury transits Leo, from 13:03 to 25:37°. Mercury is closely conjunct Ketu, Aug. 20-25. Be careful with your business, investments and communications.

Mars transits Taurus from 16:06 to 20:17°. Mars is under the aspect of Jupiter until September 1.

Taurus, Cancer, and Capricorn rising signs should be careful and patient.

Venus transits Cancer, from 27:48 to 24:24°. Venus is retrograde until September 8.

Jupiter transits Scorpio, from 16:21 to 16:46°. Jupiter is under the aspect of Mars until September 1. Taurus, Virgo, and Scorpio rising signs should be careful and patient.

Saturn transits Leo, from 04:43 to 05:36°. Leo, Sagittarius, and Aquarius rising signs can expect significant improvement with partners and relationships; entrepreneurial activities; and health and finances, respectively. Saturn is closely conjunct Sun until August 27. Virgo and Pisces rising signs should be careful and patient.

Rahu and Ketu transit Aquarius and Leo, respectively, from 13:08 to 13:06°. Rahu and Ketu remain in the 13-degree range July 13 -- Sept. 16. Persons with rising signs in the 13-degree range, and those with planets in odd signs in the 13-degree range, should be careful and patient.

Note: Whenever Rahu and Ketu are stationary for up to three months, there are major difficulties worldwide. Recently we have seen collapsed bridges, coal mines, and stock markets, along with fires, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes.

TRANSITS FOR EACH “RISING SIGN” (Not “Sun sign”):

Leo: Focus on leadership and be bold with your career. Organize your home and investments. There may be entrepreneurial expenses, but you can consider long distant ventures. Expect good fortune with your children, education, investments and home life.

Virgo: Focus on gains, income, and friendships. Be patient with setbacks with property and entrepreneurial activities. Be patient with your health and finances. Consider a spiritual retreat or connection with institutional life or foreign ventures.

Libra: Focus on your career, and decorate your office or workplace. There may be gains through children, education, investments, friends, and authority figures. Be patient with expenses, and connect partners with your own self efforts.

Scorpio: Focus on career and home life. There can be gains in the workplace. Relocation and long distant ventures are possible. Exercise patience before speaking and take care of your wealth, status and family life.
