Venus and the weather

Dear friends, Venus rules physical comforts in SA astrology. Even if modern man is mostly able to offset the impact of difficult weather through clothing and housing (with either heating or air conditioning), weather conditions are still an important factor for the overall comfort in life. The overall climatic conditions should be seen in the placement of Venus in a natal chart. When Venus is natally strong, rules a good house and is well placed in the chart, the climatic conditions and comforts would generally be expected to be good. When Venus is natally weak, badly placed, afflicted or afflicting, the comfort would be expected to be less. The adverse transit conditions of Venus or afflictions to natal Venus would then be expected to make conditions less good, while favourable transits would be expected to make things better than average. The conjunction of

Venus, Saturn and Ketu around 10°-12° Leo (and opposing Rahu in Aquarius) on the 13th to 15th of October would be expected to bring some extremes in the weather of most countries. However, more so where Saturn also becomes functional malefic planet, especially where Leo also falls in a dusthana house, as then this combination becomes badly placed. The conditions would be expected to be quite adverse for countries with Pisces rising, but also Virgo. Let's examine these two ascendants especially. Pisces: Venus becomes L8 and thus rules obstacles and endings, while Saturn as L12 rules losses. Saturn is also a cold planet. Ketu rules extremes in temperature and Rahu rules storms. When these planets combine in the sign of Leo and H6, while Rahu is in Aquarius H12, and with L6 Sun weak in old age in Virgo H7 and its dispositor, L7 Mercury in Libra H8,

the conditions would be expected to become quite adverse. Virgo: Venus becomes L2 and will thus not cause its associations problems. However, Saturn as L6 rules malfunction. These planets join Ketu in H12 and oppose Rahu in H6. Meanwhile L12 Sun is in old age in Virgo, with its dispositor in Libra H2. Interestingly, the transit condition of Venus is important for the strength of Sun and Mercury in transit, and in turn the strength of the Sun affects the combination of planets in Leo. We can therefore predict that the weather will be adverse and uncomfortable in the middle of October, more so for countries with Pisces rising and also Virgo rising. In these countries the effects may be felt earlier, as Venus enters the 5° orb of conjunction with Saturn tomorrow, given that these planets are transiting dusthana houses and their dispositor, Sun, is weak in
